Possible scam or just weird timing?

I don't want to post logs here because I don't want to call this person a scammer.... but...

Traded accounts with [email protected] (that's his AIM).

His account had no time on it (bad sign, I know... I should have know better lol)

Either way, we traded, everything was smooth, I added time onto the account with a card I had laying around.

Next day he signs on AIM and asks me if I'm the person he traded accounts with. (weird thing #1)

He tells me the account I traded him had possibly been recalled, and it's too late call so he wants to trade back if I can't get it. Says he was dc/d during his ICC10 run.

I log into game and character is logged on in WSG. Upon telling him this over AIM, character immediately logs out of game. (weird thing #2)

Checking character history on armory, appears that said character ran ICC10 up until Saurfang (considerable cockblock for casuals). Hours after that, character ran TOC25 and managed to complete the whole instance.

Now, if what he's saying is true.... why would a repped member of MD I got the acct from recall the account, join one of the absolute worst guilds on the server, and raid with them or pugs?

Is this a case of not being happy with the trade? Traders remorse?

Did he just want me to add time to his account?.. and if so why the heck would he work on the rogue and try to get it gear/honor?

I suggest you just give him the benefit of the doubt and see if you can get the information to the account, and then send it right back to him. The only issue with this is that he could claim that you "recalled" and he rightfully took his back. If he is repped I recommend trying to talk it out, especially over the phone, but until his account is out of your hands, he may seem sketchy but not a scammer.

And on a side note, I've done deals in which a week later that person will ask if I did the trade with them, as if it never happened. I guess it's just a lack of security on their side in saving AIM logs and keeping track of users.

Have to agree, probably played the account for a day out of boredom and decided he wanted his old one back with a fresh 2 months on it.

Yea, seems like it.

Talking to the fellow now and he's saying he's upset he traded his character for mine and mine got compromised.

Managed to get mine back with little effort and the character was... def. not compromised.

Has got more emblems, gold, honor... must be one nice person. Sorta like one of those meter fairies who put coins in empty parking meters... (I'm getting off-topic)

Not sure what to do, fellow seemed like he was enjoying the account...

ask him nicely for the compensation for the 2 months of gametime? cause it will a shame if it was just weird timing.. if he had ur accnt for a day.. he could of done alot of bad things to it lol or let it sit.. he was probaly really playing it or like it.. and either A was legit.. B.. he sucked it up on the DEEPS charts and was booted from icc10 lol and had to do toc25 to learn to play and still failed and did a recall

sorry just saw this thread from a trader. i wasnt trying too scam time if i was i would have just traded one of my lowball accs and said all I ask for is u put time on my warr then recalled my lowball. I simply wanted my warrior back because i didnt feel like trading for an account that was stolen or info changed ect... i did like the rogue who wouldnt pulling over 10k dps and getting in any raids and close too 5.7k gs as combat. but thats all it was for and if i had the money at the time i would pay for a month of his game time. i compencated as well... i gave him a 70 warrior with thunderfury blessed blade of the wind seeker and full t6 almost with around 4k gold so dont say im a "game time scammer" please and ty
