Please need assistance, lost account

So I purchased a toon about 5 months ago from someone on this site, not repped. I spoke to the seller on the phone, ?verified? his phone #, received a scan copy of his DL and paid via paypal. The WOW account owners name matched the paypal account as well. I played on the account for several months with no issues. I even transferred it to a Battlenet as Blizzard required in November. Well, yesterday I tried to log and a message popped up and said, ?there are no accounts associated with this Battlenet ID. I called up Blizzard and verified all the security info. They said someone else is also claiming the account and was able to verify everything too. He was able to get the ID over to them before I was and took back possession of the account. I even called the phone # he called me from when I made the purchased but I am not 100% it?s even his # anymore.

If anyone knows of anything I can do, please let me know. In the mean time I purchased a new toon from someone locally. I met him in person and made the purchase. I need to know how I can keep this account safe from being taken back if the original owner tried. Any feedback would greatly be appreciated.

well first of all, um i would have thought he recalled it.
to secure an account there are two main ways!

first isnt a 100% safe
- authenticator!

second should be safe but it will cost ya
- secure the account by buying whole new CD keys... that should cost you around 100 bucks... then transfer an character or characters to the new account. BUT IT MUST HAVE THE SAME NAME OF THE ORIGINAL ACCOUNT!
now if u want the whole account safe im not 100% sure about this

It is currently on a battlenet. Can I transfer to a new account and a new battlenet? I have all account information

Not sure about new battle.net anymore, but if you have the ID that matches the account then you should easily be able to recover it just as quick as he did. However an authenticator is not 100% safe itself, CD keys or an ID scan will get it removed.

Transferring it to a new account is a good idea, however, he can just do a reverse transfer if he has the ID as well, not really sure what we can recommend to you at the moment. I would recommend making a scammer post - http://www.markeedragon.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/forums/37/1/Scammers

if you have all the info you could call blizz right now and tell them you lost the account and they will transfer it toa new battle net for you

and if you have the ID just send it in and they will give it to you

OO can always recover his account, Eventually it will require a Notorized ID scan, in that case the OO wins cause you cant get it Notorized.

So in the end, your pretty much SOL...
