Hey guys, sorry I don't know where else to post this.

I used the website ******************* to buy gold.. I got the gold and the GM banned my account and said the gold was from a botter. I contacted player auctions but they won't refund my money. I paid with a credit card, not Paypal. Should I initiate a chargeback through my credit company?

Well thats an iffy situation. That's not gold sellers fault you got banned. That's the risk you take buying gold. Also if you charge back your credit card you are charging playerauctions so expect a perma ban there.

See the guy that sold the gold through Playerauctions is just a middleman for the gold, he does not make the gold himself he buys from wholesalers either from foreign ip addresses or from a wholesaler that buys from gamers. Theres no way for the guy delivering gold to know exactly how the gold was made.

There was also a very recent ban wave of a lot of foreign gold farmers and accounts that got their gold in its transit to customers

I see, thank you for the clarification

If you do a credit card charge back you will get the money back guaranteed (I do not wish to explain exactly why).

Player Auctions will perm ban your IP / account for use with Player Auctions though so it has a down side if wishing to keep using them.

Out of curiosity which seller on PA did you buy gold from?

I hate PA, they make it seem like a no issue website, however deep within lies loads of issues. Buy gold always using a real middleman. From EpicNPC.

I think you shouldn't chargeback since you should know what may happen when buying virtual currencies...

BTW I'm selling on PA and I had no problems regarding scams/frauds. Now I'm having one (a mechanics one) where the buyer bought my last stock and can't update my new stock because he didn't verify the payment yet - but it's the first issue I had there.

but i got banned because it was botted gold and they banned anyone who purchased it too xD if it was legit gold i probably would have been okay i think.. idk.

I also had something similar. I opened a paypal claim because an account that was taken back from me after they refused to do anything. You're out of luck if you chargeback. they'll keep banning you if you make another account..

Paypal claims won't get you anywhere unless you call in and talk to Paypal, and in most cases they don't care about virtual purchases.
You may have a better chance of winning if you dispute from your card or bank company.

PA will likely ban you if you do this.
It's not the sellers or farmers fault you got banned however, it's an accepted risk we all take when we buy and sell virtual goods.

Closing this thread to avoid more people chiming in with their opinions. :)

Well if it was botted gold you may have a case as PlayerAuctions does have this in it's FAQs:

"When selling on PlayerAuctions, the Seller shall not:"
Offer to sell any product or service that was obtained through the use of means not authorized by a game’s developer or publisher

In other words, if it was botted, the gold was obtained through the use of means not authorized by the developer/publisher. Inherent risk or not when buying gold, they have a policy in place for selling gold obtained in an illicit manner.

In that case, if the seller did indeed sell you botted Gold, I'd be of the opinion you should get your money back. One way or another.

If you had proof that you were contacted by a GM (Screenshot/E-mail) saying you got Botted gold and PA refused a refund, they're going against their own policy there. (Assuming I'm reading it right).

You are reading it right. I just believe the support there is non existant. I spent months trying to get a hold of people there to fix something. Got ignored. Sent to different departs. And other nonsense. But its worth a try.

Via email or chat I've generally been able to get fairly quick responses. The general difficulty is the lack of English support as they are based in China.

I definitely believe it would be worthwhile to try and get in contact via email or their live chat and see if they can help with this at all.
