PlayerAuctions.com Buyer Beware!

Not Recently Bumped
Playerauctions.com is a site that takes 10% to 15% of the money you were supposed to receive in order to limit you from gaining the most crucial you need which is the contact details of the person as well as being able to file a dispute and get your money back if something goes wrong.

On currency, the sellers are slower and more expensive in most games than the more reputable competitive websites. The majority of chinese sellers who sell there are for the most part washed up sellers who weren't good enough to supply the reputable websites. The buyers pay an up front service charge and the sellers pay 5% to 15% instead of 0% on a forum which is almost as easy to do. You lose all this money and they do "very little" to warrant the % they earn.

On accounts, the sellers can recall the account at anytime and if you dispute the payment, you're banned from playerauctions forever. The seller can then turnaround and create a new account and sell it again (happened to my friend). The problem is buyers believe they won't get the account after they pay when in reality 90% of the time the problem is the account getting banned or recalled later. On top of that, playerauctions bans you if you request for contact information of the seller so you really have no clue who you are buying from. Buying an account on playerauctions pretty much means that if an account is recalled, you have no way to dispute the payment and no way to contact the seller while playerauctions comes on top earning commission for doing nothing. All playerauctions does it take commission in order to ensure you get the product. Paying by credit card and disputing it is exactly the same thing so there is really NO PROS to buy an account on playerauctions, only cons.

On power leveling, this maybe their strong point as if someone screws up your account, you're at least refunded for the transaction. Leveling companies though have little profit to be made on this website, and no room for error so they tend to not advertise on playerauctions for these reasons and many more which is understandable.

Overall, a site like epicnpc you pay nothing with better support, cheaper prices, faster delivery, protection on your payments, and the list goes on.

One more thing I'll add here:

Don't get sold on that they are an US Operated Company because they aren't. Take the address on their website, google it, and you land an UPS Mail Forwarding Store Address in California.

The company maybe registered in the United States (anyone in the world can do this online for $100 a year). My opinion is they don't pay US Taxes and all funds received are eventually being shipped overseas where they actually are based. Why they can't just say they are based in another country is because they want to act more legit that they are a fully operated US company when I'm confident that they are based someplace in Asia. Just the fact that they are hiding this from people shows their true character.

I recently found epicnpc myself, and glad I did. I'll never use playerauctions again and I decided to finally sign up to make my first post because I came here after having a horrible experience with playerauctions.

Wanted to share this with people when I came across this site.

Playerauctions is hiring right now in the Philippines and the proof can be found in the link below

PA is a great website when you don't need to deal with their customer service. I have made a ton of money off PA and the platform is great. However, when I have had to deal with a PA customer service rep., it has always been horrible. Everything seems to come down to a language barrier.

My best horror story was happened to be the first time I had used their live chat. I was having issues with a recurring customers payment going through, so I contacted live chat to see what was up. Even though I stated multiple times that I was the seller, they kept referring to me as the buyer and asking me to send in copies of my ID and what not to verify my identity. The buyer was getting a bit pushy, wanted to cancel his purchase and do it without PA being the middleman. I wasn't quite sure if there would be a penalty for closing the transaction, so I asked the PA rep what would happen if I cancelled the order and just did the transaction without PA's help. The rep then went ballistic and said that my account is now going to get fined 300 dollars (I had money to be disbursed). I was a little shocked and I hadn't even cancelled the order, I was just inquiring about it. Turns out there is a no off-site sale policy and your account is fined something like $150 and $150 for a deposit if you are caught doing it again. This policy is not visible anywhere on the site btw. He then told me he was escalating me to some department to have my account investigated.

Long story short, don't contact PA customer service. The platform is great but the service rep will just leave you either a) scared they are going to fine you or b) more confused than you already were.

Forgot to mention, I've been using PA heavily for 5 months. I've got 300+ transactions with a 99.4% positive rating. Out of the blue, my option to make and accept payments with paypal was locked. I contacted their customer service and the rep said they unlocked it and it will be available for use in 24 hours. 24 hours rolls around and it is still not unlocked. I contacted another rep and they said it was permanently locked for violating a term of use or something. I've never not had a payment go through. The rep wouldn't tell me what I did wrong and told me I had to mail their support. ****ing bull****.

As a user, what makes the platform great from your standpoint? Not trolling-truly interested as I'm building on auction capabilities to TGS and in the near future will make this public.

While I know what I like in an auction site I'm also trying to make it more user friendly than the PA sort of platform. We have the skills to customize and integrate game/api mechanics into our site, (as evidenced by armory displays etc), but as far as building an auction platform I'm trying to get a feel for what users like/don't like. I've helped my kids set up auction accounts on sites like etsy and storenvy recently and their processes and user interfaces blew me away with how easy they are to use.

Adapt or die is the motto in any marketplace and I think that dinosaurs die:) and I'd rather not turn into one!

I have a 450 Dollar fine and ban until its paid for buying back an account I sold there because the buyer couldn't keep the account due to sudden money issues. I paid the refund through paypal minus a service fee. and them BAM! suspended and fined. And For over a year now have not gotten one helpful response from anyone. I keep getting sent to a "trust department" that never answers or gives copy and pasted responces.

playerauctions.com the place to scam buyers

Hi everyone!

Playerauctions.com hides sellers identities because if buyers knew who they were buying from, then most buyers would never use their site. In order to maximize sales, they trick buyers into thinking they are safe shielding the sellers identity completely. The truth is sellers who come to that site are just as risky as buying from someone with 0 Feedback on ebay.

I dealt with Playerauctions before. Ended up finding out the account I bought was previously owned by someone that I believe was about 9 or 10 years old. All it takes is using your parents information as a way to get money.

Needless to say, the kid ended up threatening to take back the account and one day he did. Never was compensated, and they never did anything about it. They make you fill out this long lengthy form with generic questions and then a week later say they'll look into. Weeks go by, nothing. Though I am not certain, I believe the kid ended up reselling the product again on playerauctions.

The only thing I buy and sell on PA is gold. Buying accounts from anywhere is a little too risky for my taste. Never had to deal with their support, but the messaging system is horrible.

Playerauctions.com is one of the worst trading platforms ever. I bought 2x US accounts from there and 1xEU account , after a few months 1 US acc and the EU one got recalled. I provided Playerauctions with all the details regarding my trades and they haven't done anything! The sellers are still not banned to this day.

I have a friend in Hongkou who works for PA, Suffice to say they are a bit of dinosaur when it comes to RMT sites and keeping up with the times. Traffic and sales can't fix poor support.

What everyone else said is my experience as well. Horrible support, live chat is useless may as well turn it off because they can't do anything. Tried to buy a couple accounts from them, first seller backed out and the second one tried to abuse the system to get my money. I had to threaten that I'd dispute the payment just get them to notice me. Was very patient during the process. The time between e-mails was well over week. My honest opinion was they either didn't know what to do or they just didn't care.

The sad part is that this happened a long time ago. Looks like they are just as bad as they were before.

So, this place seems pretty well set up, and safe. I asked them lots of questions, they offer account insurance, an ebay like review system etc. Seems like a great way to curb getting scammed right?

So, after watching several sites for a few days, asking about lots of toons I got a deal worked out with a guy over there and click the button to buy his account.

Now, they give you several payment options, credit / debit, PayPal, Moneybookers, etc. Moneybookers is the only one that will process instantly, the others take several days.

I choose Moneybookers and I'm on my way. Pretty excited about getting this going right...

Then I get an Email Feb 25

Greetings from Playerauctions!

As you have already exceeded the 30-day spending limit, for us to proceed with your order, please provide us with the complete requirements found below and send it to XXXXX. We can assure you that in accordance with our privacy policy your information will not be shared or sold to any third parties with the exception of official government legal entities if necessary.

1. Digital copy of your government issued photo ID such as drivers license (No passports and school/university IDs)
2. Fixed Line Phone Number where we can reach you
3. Most recent billing or utility statement with your name and current address shown on it
4. Most convenient time to call you

Please make sure that the documents are valid, colored and very clear for us to see.

If you are not comfortable in providing us the requirements, we recommend you to use the following as your payment method for faster clearance in 30 days:

1. PayPal Echeck – (3-5 days to clear)
2. Bank Transfer – depends on the bank but normally takes 5 business days to clear
Yeah, no f'ing way am I giving them that information, which is just f'ing ridiculous. I immediately join their live chat, and they tell me I can cancel the order, not have to pay the fees which were 40 something dollars on a 650 dollar order, and I could just change my payment method and be on my merry way. WRONG!

Well, ok. Not even sure I wanted to deal with them anymore, but maybe I'll change the payment method, either way I'm definitely canceling the order and NOT giving them ID theft material. There should have been a warning about this "spending limit" BEFORE they had my damn money.

I've gone back and forth with them a few more times now, and I just get a little bit more angry each time. I've contacted moneybookers, who assures me they issued a refund WITHOUT the fees, which it looks like I'll get stuck paying, but I've still NOT gotten the refund posted to my account.

I'll be doing a chargeback through my bank for the fees most likely, and the original payments if I don't see the money posted to my account today. **** if I care if they ban my account there or moneybookers for that matter.

Also, the account I was trying to buy sold while this has been going down... awesome.

Why so surprised?

Paypal requires ID verification and so does EpicNPC if you want to be verified

I wouldn't provide EpicNPC with my goverment ID / drivers license even if my life depended on it, a private person hanging onto tons of identity theft material, right :-)

guess thats why im just staying a normal user.

We have no interest in stealing your identity, The entire idea behind verification is to add security to your account.
Nor do we "hang on" to your documents with the intent to pretend to be you in the future.

^^

I'm sure it's a lot safer than the red flags poking out of my brain would have me immediately believe, I know the site has legit activity, it's just not something I was comfortable with, and they have other payment options which don't require this... So, I guess that's my biggest thing here. BEFORE they took my money, there should have said this would be required of me. It's just made the entire process drawn out and they're gonna make some free money from it, which I'm sure is the point.

Just wanted to post up a fair warning, be prepared to show ID as a buyer under the pretense of exceeding some 'spending limit' they don't make you aware of up front. Or, you can use one of the other forms of payment.. which they make it sound so easy to switch payment forms. It's not, you have to wait a week for your refund... unless you have a much larger disposable income than I do and you can afford to tie up twice as much money at once.

Frustrating is all.

I'd be more inclined to trust mods of the community here, a community of gamers, with my info as opposed to the community of chinese farmers over there just in it for the money.

Don't care if the intentions are good or bad, if you're not an authorized by the goverment to recieve my ID , you would never get it, i mean sure, lots of identity theft issues arise everyday in the US , i would never feel comfortable giving anyone my ID and that will never happen.

The real truth is that you're a scammer, that's why you cannot provide identification. Goodbye and please don't come back! :(

Thanks for epitomizing why the verification system is effective.
