Personal Information Protection Question

I have been debating on selling my World of Warcraft account for awhile. Things are heating up and I don't have much time to play - I'd love to sell my account to a reputable "company" on MD but I'm worried about protecting my personal information. I read the stickied post about account selling/trading but I'm still curious about some ideas.

If I cancel the credit card payment on my WoW account, is there a way a hacker could access that information through backlogs of any sort? What about the address and other information? If I change all the information to something bogus, there is no way to track down the original, right?

Is there any information that is completely vital to an account transaction? Any information that is OPTIONAL (for example, phone number)? I don't want to give out anything unless it's completely necessary.

How can I guarantee the information I do have to reveal during a transaction will not be abused? Is that even possible?

I'm sure if someone was that focused on getting my information, they could dig something up after awhile, but I'd rather not provide easy access for someone to look my CC up. Hopefully someone can answer these real quick. I probably sound ridiculously paranoid, but you can never be too careful when it comes to the 'net and personal stuff.

OK so,

1. with 8 million + people subscribed im sure Blizzard has quite the "anti-hacker" team in place, so i wouldnt be to concerned about someone finding out your credit card number as i have never seen this happen before

2. The information you MUST give over when selling an account is
*your full name
*the acc name/password
*the accounts secret question
*e-mail access
*most of the MD affiliated, and "legit" buyers will require you to give a photo ID tied with the account, should you be its original owner

3. information like street address and phone number are of no purpose whatsoever at least from an account buying point of view.

4. the majority of the people in this site are legit, and if you wanted to go with the "big company" route i would by no means be worried about the person you sold the account to messing around with your personal information. Most scammers are 15 year old losers anyways and would have nothing to do with your information.

Hope that answers your question
