Is it true that paypal can take up to 21 days till i get the money? cause the dude im trading with claims that they said that. Please help cause then if its false ill stop the trade.

If Paypal tells you that, then do not give anything to the buyer until after 21 days. Wait for the payment to clear.

If a someone makes a new Paypal account and links a new bank account to use as the funding source, payments can be delayed like that, but it's not normal. That is VERY HIGH risk and most likely a scammer.

If it shows complete, then I'm not sure why he would tell you it's going to take 21 days.

Maybe the other party was just trying to tell him the possibility of paypal payment hold. the best word to describe it i think "paypal might hold the payment if bla bla bla.. for up to 21days on overseas transaction and 14 days for domestic" happened to me several times.. especially when payment is more than 200usd.

i think he was a scammer tbh. he also told me can you just send 70 back. so im like nah m8.

I didnt recieve the money. there is nothing on my paypal that shows i have. He just told me that he called paypal and they said it could take 21 days. FOR THE MONEY TO ARRIVE. no holds just to arrive. he went offline later and hasnt been on for 2 days.

Thats a scam, your paypal balance would say its pending.

It is indeed possible for a payment to show on hold for 21 days. but it WILL always show in your balance of whats pending and when its on hold until. And you get an email on why.

Unless you get the payment ( no pending ) , I wouldnt send whatever youre selling yet

This happens when your paypal is freshly created. There is a workaround for this. The seller needs to go to that transaction and there should be a button that says "I've received what I paid for" and then the money will be added to your balance. I've had this couple of times while middlemanning.

And this also happened to me when I first created paypal account and sold my phone on Ebay. The money on my account were frozen for 21 day also if I remember correctly. This was in 2009.


EDIT: Nevermind, I thought you had it pending on your balance, but it appears that the seller hasn't even paid you and is making stories about paypal taking 21 day to send paypment.

There are many scammers who will try to use these methods to make you believe the payment was sent. Some will also send you payments as e-checks which you should never accept unless the money is cleared and in your PayPal account.
