Hello HoofBeat,

In order to be safe on paypal, prevent chargebacks and getting scammed by buyers you should have ALL your buyers send payments in friends and family with the note as something similar to this "this is an online transcation permited by the owner of the paypal, for online goods and by paying its an instant online purchase and cannot be dispuited or refunded" if the he sends that as the note there is no chance of him scamming you. you can also browse the forums for more guides on how to be safe on paypal.

He can still chargeback the money by claiming he was hacked. (If it's his own account).
Also, if the PayPal account is hacked the owner of it can do it as well.

No, when sending money you can choose between Send Payment as gift to family/friends or Paying for Goods or Services.
While there's a much smaller chance to get scammed when sending money via "Send Payment as gift to family/friends", the risk is still there.

By sending money as Paying for Goods or Services makes it much easier to recall the money. People can open a dispute (unless it's been changed) and attempt to get their money back without that much effort.

I haven't used PayPal since I got scammed and received a limitation. I moved to Skrill. They have a much stricter system. :)

Sending friends and family offers no security and easily can get your account locked. Friends and family can still be sucessfully recalled

Using friends&family option you're taking a risk because you're stealing from paypal(No fees)
They don't like that and they can limit your account and force you to go through a lot of hassle to reclaim it back.
The safest way would be to ask the buyer to send as Goods/Services choose no shipping and add note: "This is for online items which i've already recieved".
And once the buyer will open a dispute you can simply state its virtual goods and you win.
If its a chargeback you're going to lose 95% of the time and it doesn't matter how the buyer sent the payment,
but chargebacks are not something very common so its pretty safe.
You always risk while using paypal, but you i will need to deal with it and learn how to manage loss.

Today i talked with a guy from paypal and after that conversation i have some great ideas how to work with paypal.

This includes some good tips about how to avoid your account to get restricted or get scammed.

Once he sends you the payment, tell him to open an unauthorized transaction dispute and then close it right away. He won't be able to dispute that transaction again. :D

Another way is to use a stealth Paypal account from a country that allows fast withdrawals to a visa card. After every transaction you just withdraw the payment to your card. If a dispute happens and you lose, you just let the account go into negative balance and abandon it. They can't do anything to you. And besides, you are the one who got scammed, not the scammer.

In my country, you can buy a prepaid receive-only bank account with a Visa card and it works with Paypal. I'm currently experimenting with that. Very good results so far. :D

"Once he sends you the payment, tell him to open an unauthorized transaction dispute and then close it right away. He won't be able to dispute that transaction again."

This is not a good idea, it will work though. Probably a major risk to your account. but it can still be charged back via credit card.

I personally haven't had issues because I've dealt with trustworthy people so I wouldn't say the transaction went smoothly because of PayPal.

In the event where I'm dealing with someone who has no credentials what would be the safest and best method for payment to protect a seller if I wanted to avoid PayPal?

Direct bank transfer? Anyone have good recommendations?
