Today, I got scammed by a member of a different site. It was my fault for going first. I sent the payment as a gift in 2 different transactions. I know the only way to dispute it is to claim it was an unauthorized payment. Exactly how should I go about this? If they check IPs, I've been using this IP with them for a while now. Last week, I bought something from Newegg through PayPal, and today I bought a key from a member of this site. If they reverse today's transactions, they'll chargeback the legit seller from this site as well, so I'll have to explain the situation to him and repay him. Going to bed for tonight. Will check thread in the morning.

won't work, they know its from the same IP, if you sent it with paypal funds, try calling and opening a dispute, if you paid via bank or credit card do a chargeback that way.

Should I cancel the dispute for the legit transaction? Or would that look fishy to the investigators?

Why dispute a legit transaction? Wastes paypal's time and makes the legit seller look bad. What you need to do is call paypal and tell them that you don't recognize those payments and they will open a paypal investigation on them. Works maybe 20-30% of the time to get your money back and its really the only option you have. Thats the risk of buying/selling intangible items. I've gotten scammed out of almost $1,200 USD myself and.... thems the breaks. To make money in the mmorpg "black market" you have to be willing to lose money because NOBODY has 100% legit transactions thier whole life idc how high thier feedback is. GL getting your money back.

Because making a legit transaction 5 minutes AFTER "being hacked" looks fishy. I'm not complaining about being scammed. I realize it was my fault for going first and not using a middleman.
