Hey all.

I have a question about the new form of personal payments within Paypal - the Gift payment.

I understand that sending a Gift payment enables the sender to pick up the fees if paying by credit card or by negating fees altogether if they are paying with paypal balance | bank account | debit card.

My question is, are chargebacks still possible with a Gift payment type?

Thanks for the help!

Yeah, as explained multiple times before. Credit card charge backs have nothing to do with PayPal at all, that's all handled with the credit card company. So let me explain it to you like this.

CC Company > PayPal (takes their %) > You
%%%%CHARGEBACK OH NO%%

PayPal loses $300 you still have it, PayPal takes the money from you so they don't lose any money themselves.

The only thing sending money as a gift does is gets around PayPal fee's and doesn't allow someone to dispute the money they spent beacuse it was a gift (no strings attached).

The only way that its not disputable is if it was sent directly from paypal to paypal.

Id suggest putting terms in a note when you REQUEST a payment.

This has nothing to do with a charge back.
