Paypal Concerns as a Seller

I've always used paypal, and unfortunately this community is filled with scammers, I don't want to get started on my rant with that. I've been on many car/race forums before where the trade/sell/buy forums were always respectable and no one typically scammed anyone, just honest sell/buy.

I'm now seeing paypal isn't as safe as I thought it was as a seller. I read the sticky on this forum and I have a question. Has anyone actually tried receiving payment as a gift or payment owed and have had trouble? Especially if someone is willing to proxy their IP, and claim unauthorized access to chargeback. Is any of this true?

I'm just curious I had a scammer come to me telling me this info, trying to get me to take a payment from WU but before doing that wanted me to give him a photo copy of my ID and my login/pass to my wow account lol. Its hilarious too cause he has good feedback I wonder if its fake.

I have no feedback cause I'm not in this scene, I just play accounts and kill bosses. I'm done with that and want to move on from gaming and make some money off of my time.

Honestly, only take paypal if the user has alot of feedback, most people won't want to pay you Western Union because you have no feedback, but a good idea would be to make them pay you via paypal, than give them the user / pass, and physically mail them a sheet of paper with the secret question + answer, also make sure to get their phone numbers, and any personal information you feel is necassary, scammers will not give that out

Thanks for the advice. I was planning on Fedex O/Ning SQ/SA to supply a tracking# to the paypal transaction...but if they are able to argue unauthorized access by proxying their IP will I be screwed? Thats why I am thinking of having them come on ventrilo first, obtaining their IP, and noting it in the paypal transaction and requesting that paypal check the IP before I mail off their goods (SQ/SA).
