Open old threads without bumping

Sometimes I want to get the contents of one of my old posts with all the formatting and BB codes, to use in a new thread. But I can't, because there is no edit or quote button, and "Administrative->Open Thread" doesn't work. I don't want to bump these threads just because of that.

Is there any way to open an old thread without using the bump function? Or at least get the contents of it with all the formatting?

Threads close if there is no activity for 60 days. If you use the open option it instantly closes because there has still been no activity for 60 days. This means you have to create activity on the thread by clicking the bump button first, that will reset the activity time and you'll be able to open and edit it.

Unfortunately there's no way to edit threads that are closed due to inactivity at this time.
