New to this and have questions

I don't commonly go around buying gold or trading accounts or even trying to buy accounts. After my last encounter with a scammer that I'm still trying to clear up (hopefully that is soon, more or less waiting on the bank at the moment) I am a bit weary of even bothering to look for the accounts I want.

Before anyone goes and assumes I rushed into a trade or didn't have proof of the transaction or that I was suppose to receive x goods don't. I did my research before I started posting up buying threads for the two FF XIV legacy accounts that I am looking for. Even checking out the email of that seller and their rep and such. Maybe I should have researched into the site it was on more but that is hindsight for you (Sythe if anyone was curious where this sour deal came from... the mods told me I did not have enough proof for them to ban the user for the scam and said I could be trying to fraud the other users reputation..)

Anyway my questions... I seem to be having a rough time finding two ff xiv legacy accounts, I have my post up on a few different sites and have tried looking for sites that are just selling the accounts (ok maybe wording this to sites that I feel I can trust buying from..) but this seems to lead me no where.

Anyone know of any sites that have FF XIV accounts that is safe to deal with or maybe knows other places I can post up that I am looking? At this rate I would be happy to just get one account, getting the second would just be icing (Husband is not as into the bonus items as I am).

I would be wary of anyone or any site offering legacy accounts...

people with legacy accounts are HARDCORE fans... I really don't think people will be wanting to sell their legacy account so readily

if you played a game, even though it was arguably dead, to the very bitter end - do you really think they'd just randomly sell their account with ARR coming out?

Buying high value items online always comes with it's own set of risks (and rewards).

Seek out a verified middleman before you make your next purchase, I'd be glad to help educate you on safe trading.

I never thought there was a middle man service on any site really, so it never dawned me to ask if they were willing to use one. I've read a number of faqs and tips on safe trading from then and looked over all of the services offered on here as well. I think the next time around it'll go a lot smoother, I should have stuck to my original thoughts anyway and asked for a lot of things I didn't. Though the saying live and learn comes into play.

On the note of only legacy being hardcore fans. I know a number of people who paid the three month sub at the end just to get the legacy status to get the 9.99 lifetime sub fee for the account. Really if I had known they were doing that at the end of FF XIV I wouldn't be looking for accounts to buy because we probably would have done the same. ^^;

I have seen a number of legit offers for the accounts being for sale though on a few sites. Just way out of my price range. But those are accounts with completely decked out characters from the looks of it and some dating back to a previous FF online game from having the promo items from there as well.

But like I said live and learn I know a number of things I'll be asking for as proof they have the account in the first place before I go bothering anyone to set up a middle man service for the transaction.

Like Geek said, there is always that risk, nothing is 100% Safe, its a matter of reduceing those risks to increase the chances of anything not happening, like finding someone with a good amounr of reputation and who is the Original Owner.

All sorts of things to look into before going in guns blazing.
