Hello MKD! I traded a guy some gold for an account a day or two ago. Everything went smoothly. Seemed like a nice, honest guy and the account was what it was supposed to be...until..(dun dun dun) I get an email from blizzard today telling me that the account was closed due to unauthorized billing charges. I have tried contacting the OO on several occasions via im and MKD messages, letting him know whats going on, but to no avail...zip ziltch nada..no response.. even though his aim sn says he is online (as opposed to away, asleep, idle etc) So basically what I need to know is, what can I do at this point? I would appreciate any advice you can give. Thanks!

Hmmm I'm not sure since that hasn't happened to me. I think you can re open the account if you pay what ever the charge back was if I'm not mistaken.

Why reply if you have no idea what you're talking about?

To stay on the topic, if it's been a few days since the trade, and the guy still hasn't responded. Assuming the trade was done on MarkeeDragon, you can easily post in the scammers section (http://www.markeedragon.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/forums/37/1/Scammers), and a moderator/admin will look into it. Make sure you read the sticky in there for the correct posting format in the scammer section. You must have some proof to be able to do something. (Like the conversation log with the other person, screen shot of the e-mail you got from blizzard, etc...)

As far as your gold goes, there's no way at all you can get them back. For the account, considering it got banned for unauthorized billing changes, there's not much you can do at this point.

If the account was closed due to a credit card charge back, they will clearly write in the e-mail the ammount you own em and how to send em to em ( US money order only gg )

This is the exact email I recieved from Blizzard yesterday. The user I traded to was: Mr_Herbavore. I have saved our im conversation we did the trade with. I also have the 2 emails from blizzard.

The account was disabled because the financial institution reported the $39.99 and $29.99 charges on the account as unauthorized. If the card used to make these purchases is yours, please contact your financial institution and request that they contact us at [email protected]. If the card is not yours, please provide contact information for the person who authorized the charges. We will need to contact their financial institution to verify their contact information and then contact the cardholder to verify that they originally authorized the charges. This is why I would not do any trades with people who put time on your accounts right now. Too many of them are using stolen credit cards to do this. Eventually this is going to come around and bite someone big time

Yeah. Especially this scammer. He was dumb enough to get the gold on his main account and toon and I was smart enough to deliver the gold on a "dummy" account with only lowbies on it. I have reported him and the ENTIRE situation to blizzard. Giving them any and all info they needed. So, if blizzard is doing their job, they will investigate the situation, find out he has done nothing to earn that much gold, see when it was traded and on which accounts, and bann both accounts. I wont care if that account gets banned, I will be glad to sacrifice it to see him get screwed out of his account AND gold.

Actually, if you know what credit card company was used you can report to them. Credit Card companies go after credit card thieves with a vengeance.

My husband just suggested that same thing. I have his name and such information. Im sure blizzard will be happy to help. I have been communicating with them reguarding this transaction. They go very deep into research for CC fraud. Collecting IP addresses and everything. I think I am going to do that

...Stupid scammers I HATE people like this so I will do anything and everything in my power to screw them like they screwed me and probably many others.
