Need quick advice on transaction on here

I just wanted to ask a question as I've never had this happen before, and I've never purchased anything on this website. I've looked at the ban list and it seems like people get kicked out frequently for scamming people.

I purchased facebook pages from a thread on here, the guy i bought them off of is new, but has 1 positive feedback. When I sent the money via paypal and paid with my credit card it said something that I've never in my life seen before. It says the funds will not be available until February 9th because the person cannot receive that much money until they add a credit card. Is this normal, or is it cause for concern? The transaction was for $300 US dollars.

I am concerned about this because, well, buying facebook accounts isn't exactly ok by facebook rules and for all I know the person could just walk away, but at the same time I don't want to slander anyone or discredit their reputation so I wanted to ask, someone here should probably have more experience with this than me.

This means the user has an unverified Paypal account. He has not added a bank account or credit card to his PP account.

If the user is new, only has 1 feedback and your payment is being held for 5 days, it's considered very high risk.

Post the username here and we can check him out.

Thanks, I recently had surgery for cancer and am heavily medicated so I don't think I make the best choices at the moment.

but the strange thing is, it's no longer there, I went through browser history and found the URL:

And then OMG it says you banned the guy for using a proxy/vps so I think it's time to cancel


B-T-W I hope that i do not get banned I'm not using a proxy you can verify that I'm on comcast, but i had difficulty figuring out what the heck email I used because I'm taking oxycotin and it makes it difficult to think. I tried making a new account and then it threatened to ban me, but then it told me what email I used before, so I was able to reset my password then. I only have this account no others. I would send you guys ID like my drivers license if you needed but I am definitely who I say I am and I do live in Jersey Shore PA. which is where mY IP should say I live.

An update to this, thankfully you guys banned him for using a Proxy. I was able to contact paypal who is investigating his account, I was also able to file a chargeback on my chase visa so he won't be getting any money. He'll get his someday I'm sure, trying to rob someone of money who is suffering from Cancer is a pretty low thing to do.

Thank you for banning him you guys saved me a lot of $$$.

The 1 positive feedback he received was from himself on a different account. This is why we ban for VPN.

Both accounts are banned and I'm 100% sure he's a scammer. Glad you were able to get your money back.

Thank you for your help, though I'll probably never sell anything up here I upgraded to verified for 99 years as a way of saying thanks as I didn't see any way to donate. You guys saved me a lot of money there it was the least I could do, thank you!

If you deal with upgraded member only, you'll find that you'll have much better luck. We ban a lot of scammers daily, so they have to keep making new accounts. Even with phone verification and multiple other detection systems in place, scammer are able to continue to make new accounts. Some of these guys scam online for a living, so they know all the tricks to bypass safety features and since it's impossible to permanently ban anyone for a website, we can't block them permanently either.

We have a filter that will shows only threads from upgraded members only. If you use that, you'll find many reputable members with good feedback to trade or sell with, so I recommend doing that if you still want to try to buy something.
