So ive been trying to sell my mage, this is the 3rd time the buyer has sent me the paypal funds, we exchanged info, then he takes account, changes password and puts unathorized transaction hold on the paypal. Anyway to prevent this? thanks!

deal with people who's got rep if your buying let him send money first talk to him a while make sure for yourself he's legit still after that don't wanna take the risk deal only with people who's got rep

Honestly, the best way is to just not deal with people that have no rep/twv. Also do in depth back round checks (Call them, do reverse phone check, have them email you from their paypal/twv email, etc..)

Moving this post to the correct forum.

you should sell to the people that are posting stuff like, Buying any accounts. most of them have around 40+ twv marks and when I'm selling it's the first place I look.. There's too many asian's with stolen paypal accounts now =(

Definitely deal with people who are active on the forums. They are ones that have the highest chance of NOT recalling money or accounts.

any legit buyers left buying?

read the sticky on the top of the safe buying selling and trading forums please.

Always watch their english whether it's properly typed etc, as in the buyer is very serious on your account and not to a resort when he talks on aim/msn in a begging manner.

Always ask the buyer to send like $0.01 to your paypal account and from there you can see whether it's verified. After that, ask the buyer to send an email to you USING the paypal address.

etc..etc..

Tons of guides here, esp the poster above me boneshaman.

I also Ask them to open a claim against me then close this claim, Not sure if it helps protect against charge backs but I just feel safer asking them to do it.

Also like people say talk to them on the phone,Email.messenger, try your best to trace everything back to that person.

Also making a temp website that none know about and can track what IP's log into it, can help a lot to see if the IP matches the geographical area of the person. I also send a Temp Html file to the person with the email address listed on the pay pal account with directions,The Html File is a Buy now Button from pay-pal with the amount we agreed on and they need to place it on their desktop and open it with there internet browsers and then click on it and it will direct them to pay-pal to send funds to me.

I also Will send out a bill to the address listed and provided for them to sign and return the copy of it to me with a self addressed envelope I provide, So my transactions take anywhere from 3-5 days but My clients feel safer and as do I.

Of course + rep people Wouldnt g threw most of this, I only d this to new members/people who seem a bit shady to begin with.

Not sure if these help weed out scammers but I feel safer doing it this way. Hope I gave you a few idea's of your own

You can also steer clear of Paypal all together if need be, some buyers do it. If I honestly feel someone is legit about wanting the account but circumstances prevent me from verifying who they are, I give them the option of sending the money through Western Union.

All of the above posts hit the nail on the head for steps to take.

Speaking of that, as I've been selling on ebay for some time now, I need to get TWV myself for MD. I only rather recently stumbled across this site as a tip from a past buyer to increase business.

Another option, if you're selling a loaded account that's worth a lot of money. Use a verified middleman business. I personally use playerauctions.com for such accounts. However I understand MD has their own now, realitybridge.com or something along those lines. I can't comment on it as I've never used it, but trust me, these services make everyone fill at ease.

I'm new to this website and if I was buying a account I would completely understand if someone made me go through extra steps to buy their account. Really if you haven't read this topic yet you should. It has alot of paypal information on it and ways to reduce your chance of getting scammed.

It really is great to see people passing on what they know to others that are new to this.

This is a good way to get your paypal funds locked.
