Multiple account trackers and if they affect me

I noticed on my profile that it states I had an additional account which I do not, does EpicNPC track multiple accounts through IP address? Because I live in a university dorm building with at least 200 other people sharing the same wifi network and I'm not sure if that indirectly detected that as an additional account even though IP addresses should be unique to device.

Edit: I just looked and the account that is supposedly an additional one was created in July and was somehow detected on the 11th of November? Not sure how this works and I'd just like to have some confirmation that this won't affect me in any negative way.

No, we don't use IP address for that.

After a review, it appears the account was linked incorrectly. It's been removed from your account and linked to the correct one. Sorry for the trouble.
