MMORPG. Looking for games like WoW.

Hey friends, Im a total noob when it comes to mmorpg's. Im mainly a counter-strike and MOBA player. Im looking for a game like WoW where you can run around and explore everything (open world) and meet people everywhere and such. A game with a pretty high playerbase and preferably some item-hunting. Sorry if I sound like a complete retard but my english is kinda garbage so its pretty hard to explain what Im looking for.

Im looking for a game where you level up and doing stuff to get better items and stronger, you should be able to play PvP and the game should be complete multiplayer where you can find people running around everywhere XD

Thank you guys, hope some of you have something in mind.. Im not interested in starting playing WoW now since people have a 10 year advantage on me and I would probably just be totally useless, aswell as its kinda expensive to first buy WoW and then legion for 350 eur (?).

Why don't you try WoW and want something similar to it ?
It is really good with high populated servers.

Also same style is SWTOR ( gameplay ).
I have also tried "Tera" and "Blade and Soul", they are good but kinda different gameplay style.

I'd kinda say Black Desert Online is similar to WoW.

FFXIV would be my recommendation for this one.

From what you described it sounds like you would like The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) You level up doing stuff like quests which a lot of the quests have good stories and get kinda crazy and it has some fun PVP if you join populated PVP servers and after you buy the game its F2P and you only pay the sub fee to do new content but there is so much old content it would take you a long time to catch up to current content anyway.

I also agree with FFXIV for the community play aspect, in terms of game mechanics I think it is the most similar to WoW.
Honestly can't think of many other games with the same system that have developed near that level, FFXIV should be the next biggest after WoW.

Also, Ragnarok Online 2 looks like a very fun interesting game. Imo this game is very much alike World of Warcraft but more Anime in it if you like Anime.
I've seen walkthrough videos on this game through Youtube and it looks like a very fun game indeed!

I'm gonna download and try it for sure!

Look at Rising Force Online. I love this game. This is Korean multi-language MMORPG, where are 3 races on your choice: Belato (mecha and mage), Cora (mage) and Accretian (mecha). There are official servers in USA, Europe, and Korea. Game holds 3 times per day War for Chip tournament. If a race won this tournament, they can produce mineral resources in mines. There are a lot of guilds and factions. You should check it out.

I'd have to say FFXIV, or ESO are the absolute closest thing to wow in terms of gameplay. BDO is a completely different combat style and more of a grinding game than WoW. SWOTOR feels like a single player experience through most of the leveling process, and B&S is just different in general.

Damn! I went and downloaded Ragnarok 2 Online but I couldn't play this game because it's locked in Japan.
And got my game account there got directly suspended.
What a shame!

But this is the only game together with FFXIV that I think gives the World of Warcraft feeling.
I think I'm just gonna remain forever loyal to WoW vanilla & TBC private.
