Describe how you were scammed: i went on live chat to sell my account to him , we agreed on price , he asked me where i am from , i told him i`m from Romania , then he said it's ok and asked me to send my photo id to [email protected] .
Then he said he needs to check the id to be sure it's valid , he said he's security departament team is checking my id number to see if everythings ok. i told him just the police and the gouverment can do this , but he said he have tools , and his security team is checking right now . after 1 hour he told me he cant buy my account but he didn't give me a reason for this , he just said his security team decided this and he can't give me more information about this because it's agains the rules(LOL). This is suspicious. In the screenshot he told me its not because of my country , but he couldn't explained to me why. So , BE CAREFUL with this guy.

Extremely fishy. I can tell you off hand no one has the "tools" to check that kind of information. They might be data-mining with what you provided, but that doesn't make any sense anyways.

yea i`m trying to tell you guys the same thing... it's rly suspicious.

i understand when someone or a company don't want an account from a specified country because sometimes , depends if is a company and the buyer will use a credit card to do changes on the account from France for example and the account is registred to another country , sometime this thing can be verified by blizzard and there may be complications. but when i told him the country from the begining and he said it's ok... anyhow i just wanted to help . gl.

We do a similar thing on the main auction site. When a new user registers we review their information in 24 hrs. If we feel like we need more information, we require them to send us a photo of their drivers license or passport. We do not have any tool that runs the numbers, which I'm 100% certain only a government agency will be able to do. So that aspect is fishy, but the fact they require a ID is not. To become TWV, you also must send in photo ID as proof.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. I'll keep this open for a little longer if you want to respond.

ofcouse i understand you / or anybody needs a photo id when they buy an wow account or something similar. but i don't understand why they refuse me after they said the country isn't a problem , and they pretend that they use "something" to "check" my "id card number" and they cannot tell my the reason why they refused. anyhow it's just suspicios.
