Many of you might be noticing that you're missing some posts, feedback, credits or PMs. This is due to the maintenance and upgrade from the last week which started as a minor issue and then grew into a larger issue, which is why the site was down for as long as it was.
It started on Oct 4rd when an alert informed us there was an issue with our harddrive, which then started to cause Mysql failures, unrelated to Epicnpc.com's database. That day we ordered a server upgrade to replace the drive, which was scheduled for Oct 6th.
At first the thought we could keep the site opened while the data was transferred, make a quick switch and be back to normal. However the transfer process was very slow and in the end failed. On Oct 8th, we started over and this time most of the data was moved successfully, however some data was corrupt. This meant he had to restore from a backup, however it had to be from Oct 4rd, because it had to be from before the hard drive began to have errors.3
This is why there is missing data. The site was brought down on Oct 10th and was down for about half of Oct 8th and 9th, so overall there was a total of about 4 days of lost data. (Oct 5 - Oct 9)
Not 100% of the data from Oct 5-9 was lost. Just the tables that were corrupt, so you might still see data on those dates.
I apologize for the trouble this has caused. Part of the upgrade was to switch over to a RAID configuration which allows for better backups and eliminates this sort of hard drive failures scenario because RAID uses multiple hard drives to access the same data. Even if one drives fails completely, there is another live drive that will still work while the failed drive is replaced.
For those who are missing credits or other purchases, please PM me with your payment info and it will be added back over the next 24-48 hrs. Include your Paypal email or bitcoin invoice info.
