In the top right of the navigation bar is an "Alerts" (bell icon) feature that displays various account and post alerts to members.
Originally, if you clicked on the icon to open the alerts window, it would automatically mark all the alerts as read. We have made a change so the alerts are only marked read if they're clicked or if the user clicks the 'marked read' link.
This change was made so members are less likely to miss alerts.
