China's Massive Traffic Jam Could Last Weeks


A traffic jam that has lasted 10 days already. They expect it last to atleast until the middle of next month until they finish the planned construction...

What do you think the death tole will be? Btw atm it is currently 60 miles long (The Jam)

i know this is an old post, but thats pretty amazing. I know back in 2005/06 there was a hurricane headed for Corpus Christy, TX. They evacuated everyone in the southern cities of TX, to the north, were talkin Austin, TX, Houston, TX and everything in between. The trafic jam was terrible as well, talking from corpus christy up to weathford, tx which is 7 hours away on a normal drive. Gas prices shot up to around 5 bucks a gallon, dehyrdation + hunger lead to deaths and illness. Cars were breaking down or running out of gas during the traffic jam, causing more of a jam.

Construction planning in China is always done with the highest level of sophistication and forethought. (not!)
They get stuff done, but man the way they do it can suck sometimes, especially when they do it all by hand instead of machines.
3 years here. I've seen some wicked construction. Sometimes they do it right and can build a highrise tower in a matter of weeks that would take a year to build in the USA.
