You can remove the attachment from the thread by going to edit post > go advanced then scroll down to ''Manage Attachments'' under Additional Options and then just click on the attached picture at the end of the small page and then mouse over the attached picture and you will see a question and a delete button, just click on the delete button and it's removed.
