A guy with a Korean name, 7 contacts, and said his location was in Korea, agreed to buy my LoL account for the listed price. I ask him, PayPal correct? He replies with a yes. He also acknowledged that my post said you had to pay through "Friends and Family". He said he didn't like that idea, and this is about the time where he tries to make it seem like he wouldn't scam. He asked me to let him log onto the account so he can gain a little bit more trust in me. I let him log in to the account, knowing of course, that I will be able to recover the password if he tries anything sneaky. (Yes i'm an idiot for letting him log on, but I forgot that you are able to destroy runes on the account.) He didn't destroy them, rather, he told me to change the password again, and said, "you should change it because people can get on your account and destroy the runes." I was like, thanks for the headsup, and I changed the password once more. He comes back later after he said he was going to eat, and asks for the new password that I just changed. Assuming he didn't have a lot of time to check out the account, I let him on it. I knew that if he was scamming me to steal the account of value, that he wouldn't get rid of the runes. He then proceeded to say that he will pay up if I let him change the password to his. Now this means he wanted my new password to log on and request a password change to the e-mail using a code that is sent to the e-mail. He sends the code to the e-mail and asks for it. I feel a bit sketchy since it wouldn't make a difference to change the password before or after I give it to him. I do a little pondering in the LoL account settings, and find that you can request a change in your e-mail via code as well. That being said, he 90% likely sent an e-mail change request code to my inbox rather than a password change one. As soon as I denied giving him the code I immediately changed my password for a third time, one that he would not know. No matter how many promises he made not to scam, or how many I made, we agreed that a deal would not be made, and he's been offline since.
Just know everybody, the internet is all anonymous. Filled with idiots like me who went as far to give him the password pre-sale rather than screenshots. Nobody anonymous can be trusted on here, unless they're epic verified. If you want screenshots of the chat log, add me on my Kik: WhosDivine .
The Korean guy's (who was probably American because he had perfect english) name on the forums is unknown. If you want people to add you on Skype, make sure they comment their Skype name on your post, because the Korean guy didn't and he can't be punished. He will just be floating around looking for someone who doesn't take precautions.
Also don't deal with people with foreign names, that just means you can't identify them (unless you speak the language) other than the language of their profile or name.
Safe deals out there,
WhosDivine
