It was a really clever Spoof - Disco and Defender Are not scammers

Alright, so today you saw the post I made about the account I got from defender etc.

I Come to find out that the email was a really cleaver spoof that almost got me.

It seems that my problems and concerns made me over judge people.

Sorry Defender and Disco.

We all make mistakes and assumptions when stuff like this happens, heck I been looking at it for more then 2 hours its 4 am now /u/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Anyway.
Defender is an alright guy, But ya the paladin is 100% safe so I am happy.

and to the spoofer , hope you rot.

np at all bro. like i said from the start, give me time and we will sort this out.

Everyone needs to be smart about things like this, email spoofing is very easy. Take someone with photoshop and a little html experience and they can make a completely legit looking email and send it out to people.
So always be certain the emails you get are real, and one of the easiest ways is what ultimately broke down this situation me and Raven had, he tried to reply to see what address it would be sent to, and there you saw the proof that it was indeed a spoof.

But for those of you who instantly thought i was a scammer, and wanted to nail me to a cross.... thanks for the support.

That was the best spoof email I have ever seen. I helped Raven examine the email, and all the markings of a spoof were not existent- misspelling, bad spacing, weird grammar, etc. My initial reaction was that it was a spoof but I couldn't figure out WHY it was one. How did you ever figure it out? Was it the return address in the email being hidden like I said?

Anyways, glad it was worked out /u/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif And defender has GREAT advice- if there is a problem with an account, give us time. Let us work together and 99% of the time a fair solution will be found. This situation was a little out of the ordinary since the spoof was THAT good and all the other squirky details involving the transaction.
