Is selling characters using payed character transfer viable?

Title says it really. I've got an alt toon on my main WoW account that i dont use & am considering selling.
Would selling just the toon to someone with a blank account (created with same last names) using payed character transfer work? Or would it be more beneficial to buy another account of my own, transfer the toon & sell the actual account?

both work perfectly fine. however, suggest the first method - that way, you can ask if he wants to tranfer / name change the character to another server. all for the 25 instead of having a xfer down + cooldown.

I would transfer the toon you want to keep to a new account for yourself, and sell the original account.

Why?

As a buyer, I don't want anyone but me having the information on the new account. If you create it then transfer it for them and whatnot, then YOU know the secret pass and all info on the new account. As a buyer I don't want anyone but me knowing that.

If you transfer the toon you want to keep off the account, then sell the original, it is pretty much win/win for both sides.
