PSA:
It is important for you to bind both email and phone number right away, along with changing password as soon as you get account info.
Once the email is bound, for maximum protection the buyer and seller should wait a full 24 hrs before continuing with the transaction.
Facebook Warning: Linking to a FB account is not recommend if you ever plan to sell your game account.
- If you link to your real FB you won't be able to remove it and so the game account can't be sold.
- If you link to a new dummy FB account you are GREATLY increasing the chances the FB account will be locked. Once locked it can't be unlocked since the FB account is a fake.
For Mihoyo account without 3rd party bind (Google Playstore / Facebook):
1. Login onto the website.
SEA (old accounts): https://asia.user.honkaiimpact3.com/#/login/password
Global (old accounts): https://global.user.honkaiimpact3.com/#/login/password
New accounts: https://account.hoyoverse.com/#/login
Account management was switched to hoyoverse some time in 2021. Accounts made before that still use the old website, while accounts made after use the hoyoverse website.
2. Make sure to change password and bind both your email and phone number (these 2 binds are unbind-able).
Only problem you may come across is the verification code is not getting sent (by email or phone number). If this happens, try again in 1 hour or more.
Note: If one of your phone number or email became inactive / unusable / or any other reason, you can unbind it with the other bind you have. 3rd Party bind will not be usable to unbind phone number nor email.
Example: Phone number is dead / stolen, but email is active. Simply send the verification code to the email to unbind phone number.
For Mihoyo account with 3rd party bind (Facebook):
Extra steps
https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=applications§ion=active
View and Edit on Honkai Impact 3 (it may be in Expired or Active tab), to find the string of numbers the game shows.
OR
Simply login into the game with the facebook, but I recommend doing this after you secure the account (because verifications from Facebook for "suspicious activity")
1. After securing the mihoyo, log into Facebook.
2. Make sure to:
-Change password, email, and phone number (recommended to be done by seller, except for password)
Email: https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=account
You need to verify on the new email, and then manually remove the old email by clicking Edit (refresh after you verified your email).
Password and login sessions (don't log out login sessions yet, do it last): https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=security
If you keep getting blocked for some reason by Facebook, try using the "Forgot Password" function once you changed email.
Phone number: https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=mobile
I recommend adding your phone number first before removing the current phone number.
You can remove your phone number there, and put a new phone number.
Note: Don't forget to remove "old phone number", which is usually somewhere under "Time of day".
-Reset "trusted friends" to help recover said account
This can be done at https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=security
Optionally, remove friends from the Facebook account.
Do note that Facebook may think it is a suspicious activity / stops you from removing friends if you are removing too much in a short time (approx. 200-300 friends).
-Turn on 2SA/2FA for extra protection (recommended to be done by seller)
Can be done at https://www.facebook.com/security/2fac/setup/intro/
-Log out all other ongoing Facebook sessions
Can be done at https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=security
-Optionally, also secure said email.
This is not necessary, as you can't really find out if the current email is the original email.
I will omit that as there are different email providers and different steps for it.
