How to safely manage an account after buying?

Hello all

I need to discuss how to safely manage an account after having obtained it.

I got a game account from a friend and I want to spend money in it. It is currently free-to-play but that has limitations. I need tips to be able to spend money without ending up with a locked account.

There are many ways to spend money, are some safer than others? I'm sure there are tons of tips I could use.

Well, I am not saying anything bad about your friend, but always be wary spending a lot of money on game account. The best way if its a phone, tablet based game is using gift cards to fund apple or google play balance. Other type of games? depends on company.
If you are from same country credit card should be okay if no other purchases were made.

I would not start with a large or a lot of purchases in any case. Start with a small one here or there so it does not look like unusual activity.

My friend won't know how much I spend if I do it without involving him, and I want to avoid involving him if possible.
I almost trust him enough to temporarily give the account back to him and ask him to spend the money after I send money on PayPal, but I have not done this. The biggest reason is I don't want to trouble my friend. My friend have made many purchases in the game and he probably(?) used PayPal. He lives in a different country in the same part of the world.

I started this as a general topic not narrowing down to a particular game, but in this case it is a F#ncom game on PC. I'm pretty sure gift card is not an option, I have not heard of anyone using it. Options I know that can work are Debit card, Credit card, and PayPal.
But gift cards may be an option for other games and I welcome all tips. Very interesting would be if different methods are recommended for different game developers.

Often on account pages, you set your country. If this changes, is it a problem? Is it worse if the setting don't match with the country where the player is?
