Under normal circumstances threads are not removed, but we obviously remove threads/posts everyday, 99% being random spam. Other exceptions are resolved disputes where the OP requested it to be removed and from time to time threads/posts that have gotten out of hand.
The thread in question created by MJ was designed for no other purpose then to insult a moderator and start a flame war, which got out of hand as "legal action" was threatened. I put legal action in quotes because we all know 99.9999% of people who threaten lawsuits are full of ****, as was in this case. The thread was removed and MJ permanently removed from the forums as he is no longer welcomed back.

Alright, sounds perfectly reasonable. As long as the thread itself was removed by yourself, as mods deleting threads would be overstepping their bounds as mods/members of this site.
However, why was MJ given full blame from one thread(not counting his zillion other threads that ended in flame wars) why was absolutely nothing done about your mod overstepping his bounds once again in giving an infraction over an offsite remark in the other major thread?
Clearly, he knew he wasn't allowed to do so, yet did so anyways. All that was said was "Oh, yeah, meh, he can't do infractions for offsite remarks." That not being a direct quote, but, pretty close.
You keep allowing mods to think they are the law and allow them to get away scot-free with their various infractions when they are basic members with only the ability to infract and move threads.
Need I remind you of Sky and his constant bashing? Some of your current mods are doing the exact same.

I can and do remove threads as I see fit to. Most, as Mike said, are spam threads and such.
As for us being basic members you are incorrect. We are here to enforce the rules and we enforce them to our understanding of them with the admins'/super mods input and correction if we mess up.
I have no idea what your point is with this thread. The world is not black and white.

Last I checked, you weren't an owner of EpicNPC. It's pretty black and white.
You can infract, move threads, and whatever else gets you off.
Also, at the end of the day, you are a basic member no matter how you want to view it. Who can/should be infracted and banned as any regular member (See EX of Sky.)
You are no better nor do you deserve more respect and privileges than any other member.
Only I have the ability to delete threads. Mods can soft delete, but not perm.
The infraction was given because MJ posted 2 threads that had no content, only an insult at a mod for apparently no reason and the other an insult at another member. That is not what the "Rant" forum is for. If someone has an issue with someone else, by all means rant and complain, but posting an insult with no reason why after being inactive for 2 weeks is unwarranted and not needed. It's very obviously this was only meant to create drama, which it unfortunately has.
We don't need or want members who exist on these forums for the sole purpose of flaming and insulting other people. This and other reasons that I'm not going to get into are why his account was permanently closed and why he's no longer welcomed back.

If we're forced to censor ourselves in anyway shape or form, what is the point of the RR&SL forum section? I'm generally confused.
How are we supposed to "come and let it all out" if we have to still go "Hmm, this post might make Sakura ever so sad?!?!"
Also, I'm not arguing a point on why MJ was banned, you can ban whoever you want.
I'm ranting (barely) on how you allow mods to delete threads, soft delete or not, when it's not stated in the forum rules nor the account creation rules that they are allowed to do so, only owners of EpicNPC are.
That is overstepping their bounds.

Had a nice long convo with Sean over aim, Suffice to say he does not have the passion in speech as he does here on the forums, guess that edit time is essential to looking like a ******.
The forum rules, found here (Announcements - WoW Accounts Buy Sell Trading) are enforced by the mods and myself. It is implied by the very fact they are called "Moderators" that they enforce these rules and in order to do that they obviously need to be able to edit and removed threads.
While it doesn't say specifically that mods can removed threads, many of the rules listed are unenforceable without the ability to do so. If you can't remove threads, how do you deal with spam, prohibited material, offensive language, private information and many more? It is implied that mods have to ability to edit or remove threads based on those rules.
At this point you're nitpicking at the rules. I don't see anywhere where it says Mods or even the Admin are the ones that give out infractions, so does that mean they are magically given to members by the invisible God of forum?
As I've always stated, the Rant forum has a much more relaxed set of rules then the rest of the forum, but it's an unwritten rule set and that does not mean it's not moderated. Members seem to push it as far as they can go and when they finally cross the line we either close or remove it depending on the situation. As I hate removing threads so I almost always just close them and tell the mods to do the same, however there are times when they need to be removed. I'm ok with members pushing it a little in this forum, but random insults for no other reason than to insult is not what the forum is for. And just so no one takes that the wrong way, it's never ok in any forum for abusive language, keep your rants somewhat clean.
