Here is our 10 most important terms and abbreviations you should know comprised of the most common and most important sayings you will come across in your adventures.

Once you know these you will never again be told to 'GTFO (get the feck out) you noob' again.

Aggro - When monsters switch from passive to aggressive.

This occurs when a player or party member enters the Aggro circle / Danger Zone surrounding the monster. The first member to enter the zone/area will then be attacked.

AoE - Area of Effect.

Skills that can affect more than a single target and cover a area in which if a party member or enemy enters they will revive damage.

DoT - Damage over Time.

Damage given at time intervals causing health degeneration rather than dealing a single packet of damage. DoT come's from attacks which cause such effects as bleeding, disease, poison or burning etc.

Farming - Repeatedly killing the same enemy to repeatedly gain the same reward.

Farming plays a large part in getting gold and crafting materials for armor, weapons and offhand items. It is when one or more players go to a certain region and attack creatures and/or bosses attempting to obtain rare items, experience and gold. This is generally done by using specific builds that are created to be used solo or in a group to amass wealth.

Experience farming is rarely done in Guildwars because of the 'anti grind' nature of the game.

Drop - Loot such as a item or gold dropped from a enemy once killed.

In Guildwars loot is randomly assigned to a non hero or henchman character. As is gold, though once picked up by the assigned member it is dived between all party members including henchmen and heros.

PUG - Pick up group

A group formed to complete any specific task in PVE. The group usually disbands after the task is complete.

LFG/GLF/GLFM - Looking For Group, Group Looking For... and Group Looking For More..

Term's used in towns or outpost to find a Pick up Group or to find more members for a Pick Up Group. As a example: "GLF more monks"

WTB/WTS - Wanting To Buy and Wanting To Sell.

Again terms used in towns or outposts indicting a player wants to buy or sell specific items. You will often be able to buy/sell to a trader advertising like this and get a better deal than you would with a NPC trader.

GG/GJ/GL - Good Game,Good Job and Good Luck.

Common terms used in all online games but in Guildwars they are used often before and after PvP matches as a show of good sportsmanship or in PvE to show appreciation of good team work.
