So, in a nutshell, I conducted a transaction with whom at first seemed to be a shady trader, then ended up getting me to trust him. (Yeah, I am a sucker.) Needless to say, the end result wasn't that great.

I had a thread here looking for some toons, (http://www.markeedragon.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/topics/2158916#Post2158916) and was contacted by a member here, Warglaiveslol. (http://www.markeedragon.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/users/100521)

He contacted me on AIM, wanting to sell me his Warrior located here: (http://www.markeedragon.com/forums/ubbth...KEE#Post2131751) (This was prior to the proof that he scams being posted by Endbomb1.)

I was skeptical of the trade at first, questioning him why he had negative rep here. He told me it was because Endbomb1 never actually paid him, and he in return left negative rep for Endbomb1. So, being the sucker I really am, I believed him.

We started talking more about the warrior, then about where we lived, etc. He had me call him and talk to him for a bit, all in all, he really had me trusting him that he was legit.

He wanted to avoid using PayPal, stating that he had been scammed to many times, which is something I can understand. I even offered him to not give me the SQA to the account until 90 days after the transaction, so if I was to attempt a reversal, he could easily get the account back. Yes, he turned down this idea also.

So, he wanted me to pay him via Western Union over the internet. I went ahead and went through the process, sent him 330$, went through the whole verification process, etc. He told me the next morning he would pick up the money, and send me the account info. As you can guess, this has never happened. He has picked up the money, and disappeared. I have called him, and HE has answered his phone saying that I got the wrong number. Simply pathetic. Then today, I saw Endbomb1 post proof that he paid this scammer, so in the end we both had the same thing happen to us. (He got hit a lot harder, at least I only paid 372$ total.)

So, I have quite a bit of information on him right now. I have a scan of his ID, his address, his phone number, etc. I have the option of going to the legal department here on base and filing a report there. (A buddy of mine here has been in nearly the same predicament, notified our command of what happened, and ended up getting the scammer into some deep [censored], but I would like to avoid this.) So, maybe all of you who are familiar with the subject could suggest something? What can I do to get this guy to stop scamming? I really don't want anything seriously bad to happen to him, seeing as kids will be kids, and it was only 330$, but I am not too sure. Who knows how long he has done this, and how much he will continue doing it. Just between me and Endbomb1 he has acquired over 1000$.

So, what do you all suggest I do? Like I said, I have quite a bit of information on him.

I really don't get how people can live with themselves scamming others, especially someone who is serving the country he is lucky enough to be living in. It really makes me sick.

This is not much help but i am sorry this happened to you and i think you guys are doing a great job keeping this country safe and i would thats me turn him into the police thats the only way hes going to learn thats just me though i know you want to be the nice guy in this but face the facts he stole $330.00 dallors from you not much that can be said is going to stop someone like this other than turning them in but again thats just me again sorry for your loss.

Here is what you do. You call your dredit card company and you say hey this [censored] stole $330 from me. Your credit card company has a lot more power and authority (millions of dollars worth), than this lttle [censored] and theyll give you your money back and get him sent to jail. I dunno, maybe he'll stop then....... (sarcasm) Credit card companys dont like BS and wlll alwys back their honest customers.

Here's ways to insure things like this wlays go in your favor:

1. record phone convo's
2. Save everything and all records pertaining to the transactions.
3. Look at their preveious transactions and reviews

and I agree 100%... People like this don't learn until you turn the tables. Its true and always has been.

Well, I figured I would give him until tomorrow morning to either hand over the account information, or give me a refund. If neither happen, I decided I will take this much further. I guess since he doesn't want to play nice, I have no reason to either.
