First off, let me start by saying, I'm not going to play the name-game, finger-pointing thing. We all know whom I am talking about merely by their actions.
I just wanted to voice my opinion on how disgusted I am with the actions of one individual, and the inactions of other individuals.

First on the agena is hypocrisy. How can one person be punished for making fake IDs; meanwhile another person doing the same thing at the same time NOT be punished? It BAFFLES me how one person can have the audacity to request that someone be banned for making fake IDs A DAY AFTER ASKING THAT SAME PERSON FOR HELP on making fake IDs.

And the mods do nothing, even after concrete proof is provided and made public.

The second matter I would like to address is self respect. How in the world can you look at yourself in the mirror when you have no self respect? How do you allow someone to basically create a passive-agressive thread for the sole perpose of mocking your entire website and business? Even worse than that, how do you allow them to close their account under the guise of some benevolence, only to reopen the account 3 days later as if nothing happened?

No self respect.

He was temp-banned for 7 days for that. I felt that was a good enough punishment as the new 60 day temp ban rule was only created after that incident.

Second, I'm not looking to censor people and their opinions. Just like I didn't delete that thread, I won't delete this one either. I allow them as long as they do not get too out of hand. People are entitled to their opinions, plus I like to hear them and I have a thick-skin, so it's doesn't bother me.

Its a very common law in the states and I'm assuming in many other countries. You cannot punish someone for committing a crime if it happened before the law was put in place. Its basically to protect people from being retroactively punished. I created that 60 day temp-ban rule after the incident happened, so I did not apply that new rule to that case. Simple as that.

It was an unspoken rule that fake IDs were not allowed and for the most part everyone followed it. Toon received the 60 temp-ban because he was already warned, KH received no warning and that was his first offence so I gave him a break, but that was the last one.

Everyone is now subject to the 60 temp ban rule on first offence, then perm ban on 2nd offence.

So, where are these new rules that you will be implementing on recalling accounts and using someone else's ID when sending it in to Blizzard, you know, that one very common thing you tell everyone to do in the scammer threads which also happens to be a big, big, no-no inside the states.

You know, using someone else's ID and claiming to be them seems like a totally not nice thing, friend.

Pretty sure this is Mike's site, not yours. So technically he can do whatever the hell he wants. If you don't like it, you can close your account and go somewhere else, or zip it and deal with it.

Unfortunately IDs are a requirement at times when dealing with gaming accounts. However there's a huge difference from being given a copy of an ID, by the ID holder, than a forge ID being created without the ID holders knowledge.

Many times in your life you will go somewhere, perhaps a job interview, where they will ask you for an ID and keep a copy for themselves. Asking for and obtaining a copy of someones ID is not illegal. As with any job interview, they will use your info and ID to obtain more information about you in a background check, this also happens when renting an apartment. Again, this is not illegal.

In the case of game accounts, when the person sells their account, they are giving up all legal rights to that account and the buyer is the rightful legal owner. The ID is only being used for the item that was rightfully purchased.

Now I'm not a lawyer, so I'm not sure if this is or is not Identity theft, but it is certainly a gray area if the ID owner gives it to the buyer for the very purpose of using it ncase something happens to the account.

Now if the ID is used to open up a credit card in that persons name, then obviously that is ID theft and a crime punishable by law.

I never mentioned the legality of being in possession of someone's ID, heck, I hold onto my Parent's Passports all the time.
I mentioned the legality of obtaining someone's ID then proceed to POSE as said person and using the ID to obtain something they do not own.

That, in every sense of the word is identity theft.
Not to mention you send in occasionally have to send in Legal forms of documents where you have to not only print, but, also falsify a signature as said person.

It isn't fair, Mike, to disallow one illegal activity on these boards, while allowing, and with you condoning something that is also highly illegal.

These forums have always been a Grey area, please leave it as so and allow members to continue what they have always been doing.

Also, you can not sell something you do not technically own. So, I'm confused on the whole selling off legal rights to an account. Them ToS and EULAs are there for a reason.

Obviously there are a ton of grey areas on this website. We allow what we must but unnecessary things such as fake ID's will not be allowed no matter how hard anyone cries. This comes down to a legal matter for the website, if its shown to have people producing fake ID's it could easily be shut down.

Like it could not also easily be shut down if someone proved the owner of the site is telling people to falsify documents and not only approves, but, tells people to commit identity fraud.

He doesn't tell them that word for word, he simply tells them to recover the account, or get the OO to recover the account. Mike has never said "commit identity fraud by posing as the owner of this account".

Not true, recently received an infraction from our main Champ, Sky, in the forum which we used to be able to Rant and Rave.

That Sly devil has been breaking the rules himself, I've yet to see or hear if he's been getting them infractions as well.

1) I've never asked anyone to send in forged documents to recover an account. If an account becomes notary locked, I've always asked the parties involved to contact the OO and get that from them. I have never and will never ask for anyone to forge that documentation.

2) Identity Theft by definition includes theft. If an ID is provided to the buyer for the very purpose of using it to unlock or recover an account, if ever needed, then by definition it is not Identity Theft, as no theft took place.
