Frustrated

So, I am trying to get in touch with some people (people rather than companies, because I am wary of unreliable sites, etc), and I am trying to build a relationship so that I can sell a couple characters that I don't really use.

I am new to the forums (long-time troll, first time poster), so I can understand that people will be cautious with me. I haven't really done this before, so perhaps I have worded things wrong, or gone about the whole process the wrong way. But, when I contact these people, they inquire about what I have to offer and almost always just stop talking to me. It would be nice to have a little respect. Tell me that you aren't interested instead of just ignoring me. Its a business, but that doesn't mean that I am not a person who likes a little courtesy.

I have read the "safe selling" threads, so I know what to do once I get to that point, but how do I get to that point!

I have been curious about what the value of accounts are, hoping I can improve the character so that both myself and whoever buys benefit from it. But the one person who says "ask me anything" wont even talk to me.

Does anyone have any advice for starting up on here. I just want to sell a couple of characters, and hopefully get the most buck for my bang. Someone help a noob out

Get Trustwho verification that's what id do first , people will be alot more eager to deal with you if you verify your identity.

Advice: A lot of people on the site can be tools. They need to boost their e-ego every now and then. Just brush it off, over time you'll meet a lot of down to earth people on here. Just take everything in stride, and keep on trucking.

Any suggestions as to how to approach a potential buyer. It seems that most just want to get down to business, but I am unsure if I am offending people if I simply post info (and get down the business).

most buyers are interested in a summary and a price. not everyone is going to be interested, most people want to pay as little as possible.

I hate to say it, because it really, really depends on the account in question, but I tend to follow the 10-20% rule.

10-20% of the people that you contact or talk to will be interested in the account. Of course this number fluxuates but for a "normal" account (ie. level 80 couple alts, t9.25 gear) you can expect that 1-2 out of 10 people will be slightly interested.

Just be safe with scammers and keep your patience! When you rush, you get scammed. Everytime I've offered an account, about 90% of the offers are scams. It's easy to tell who is actually trying to get an account, and whose trying to take advantage. To be honest, I have done a handful of trades, and even I can tell who is trying to be the scammer. The reason is that I have the patience to hold onto the account for two weeks, or even a month before trading/selling it off, because in the end, that extra time can save you a heartache.

Take the offers as they come and be careful

I doubt he has one, and i always use QFT as quit flicking talking...
