What is the dispute about?

The account was permanently banned by Frontier for real world trading, it seems to be activity that happened on the account before the trade.

Other details / notes:

I don't think the seller was the original owner of the account, I'm not sure how they acquired it... or what activity it was used for/involved in but it seems to be clear it wasn't just their own account and should not have been sold

Did the seller say he is the original owner? (provide proof)

The seller didn't say, but I don't think he was the original owner based on not knowing basic game play concepts when showing the account details to myself and the middleman, I had to direct the seller where to show basic stats information to validate the account. Anyone who has played to a level where they have what was on this account, would know those basic game play concepts and the locations of things I asked to see. He was not the original player or likely a player of any standing in this game at all.

What account information did the seller provide you at the time of sale? (ID, SQA, etc)

Account information, just an email and password, was transferred via the middleman listed above as part of the trade guardian transaction.

How long did you have the account before it was recalled?

about 4 days

Aug 27 - Account purchsed
Aug 31 - Account banned for real-world trading

There's two possibilities for the ban.

1) Frontier saw the account was being sold and banned it.
2) Some other real-world transactions took place on the account like buying credits or items from someone.

Second, are there any other support tickets on this account that are related to RMT?

Third, you should not have admitted to buying the account. The seller could have contacted Frontier to claim his account was hacked to recover it, but that option is no longer possible because you admitted to buying the account.
 
I get a "[FONT=&quot]Not Authorized[/FONT]" message when I try, it's one of the first things I noticed when they banned it. Because they sent an email saying it was banned, and in the email is a link to the support site where I could not login. Also there is a note on the support login page: [FONT=&quot]Our support site login is shared with the Frontier Store.[/FONT]

When you first got the login info, did you change the email address on the account?
If you did change it, do you remember the email that was original there?
I noticed the login is an email address. Was the login email and account email the same?
What is the character name?

Based on the info we received, we can't confidently determine who is at fault.

The seller might have purchased items/credits before the sale.
The buyer might have purchased items/credits after the sale.
Or someone reported the account and Frontier was able to see that the account was listed for sale.

Base on this evidence, we are going to decide on a 50-50 split. This means a partial refund of $150 should be issued by @Nilek12.

We'll give him 48 hrs to respond.

I have already suggested a 50/50 split on the loss to the seller via discord as a settlement. He hasn't responded to me on that point, but said he would attempt to regain access to the account. However, I don't see this as likely. Thanks for looking into it. And of course, I would fully agree to the 50/50 split...
 
Nilek12 was online 2 days ago and has not responded to this dispute.

Nilek12 has been banned until he issues a 50% refund.
