I'm trying to sell a World of Warcraft account of mine, and with almost every single person who is interested, the same halt always comes up.
The buyer wants me to change the email address to theirs as soon as the transaction is made.
I've read Katisuma's guide a few times over and didn't see anything about this, so I'm assuming it's one way to scam.
Although the buyer wouldn't have the secret question/answer, I'm pretty sure they could still do some damage with only the email address. Here's some of the things I was thinking of:
--- It would give the buyer enough time to change my password, which I couldn't get back without the email address being mine. So it's sort of like who ever changes the password first gets to do whatever they want with the account until I go though all the channels with Blizzard, and by that time the scammer could have transferred my characters to sell their gold or even delete their gear.
So I was wondering...is there any way around this? Does this show a sign of a scammer?
