I am hopefully going to try and recall the account since i didn't give him the SAQ or ID scans as of yet, was meant to happen 2 weeks after i sold the account.

Think i can at least get it back fine?

Got the account back this morning. Everything has been xfered to different servers and i guess sold off sigh

. Going to try and contact a game master about it now.

[edit] I gave all of those logs to paypal is there anyway that i could win this dispute? Or information i should collect next time to help win?

A mate told me to have them open and close a dispute in paypal before giving them certain information? Does this help? I tried to follow the basic terms of sale in the MD wiki where i wouldn't give them most of the info for a few weeks.

But didn't find anyone happy to not get the e-mail address for 2 weeks =(.

Extremely unlikely paypal will fight for you in this case. In future when you've sorted out the details of the transaction and are ready to accept funds, use the "REQUEST MONEY" feature and add "INTANGIBLE GOODS" to the memo/note field. This should give you a fair chance of paypal siding with you if they open a INR/SNAD dispute as outlined in the Buyer Complaint Policy.

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">PayPal's protection for buyers only applies to payments for tangible, physical goods that can be shipped. Payments for intangibles, services, custom made items, airline flight tickets, eBay classified advertisements, items prohibited under our Acceptable Use Policy or licenses and other access to digital content are not eligible under PayPal’s protections for buyers.</div></div>
Unfortunately they can still report an unauthorized transaction claim, which you have very little chance of winning. Get them to send you an email from the same address that's on their Paypal and include their particulars and photo ID, open the e-mail headers and look for something like "X-ORIGINATING IP" then use (http://member.dnsstuff.com/pages/tools.php?ptype=free) to check the location, if it dosen't match up with the address they've provided then you know something could be askew. Always request a quick phone conversation, don't talk over internet voice services, then do a reverse lookup on the number (http://www.whitepages.com/reverse_phone) and make sure that it's the same as the rest of the info. If they do file an unauthorized transaction, send all the information collected to paypal and you might have a small chance of winning the dispute.

After all that, they can still do a chargeback through their credit card company if they paid via CC, it's a long tedious process most scammers won't go to the effort unless it's a high ticket item. It's always better to have them send an eCheck.

I'm not sure if opening an unauthorized transaction dispute and then closing it would be the solution (I think that would just make Paypal very weary), maybe someone with more experience can enlighten us on that.

Hope this helps, and good luck with getting what you lost back.

I really don't have sympathy for people like you. </div></div>

Err i guesss what i said came across wrong. i was mainly asking for info on if i would win cases like this in the future. and also i have e-mailed him again informing him that i have recalled the account and said the funds clear ill release the account to him again.

Also the toon is now naked on a new server with no gold and all my gear was vendored i guess for gold. I know deleted toons get gear back even vendored...but if his stripped me naked for more gold and sold it off to someone might be a bit harder.

Well ill see what the gms do and then try to resell it again hopefully.

Thanks for all the helpful information, will help alot with my next sale. when i get home ill add the e-mail addresses he used as well.

*sorry about formating typing from my mobile*

You need to talk on the phone with who ever you sell/buy/trade with.
Do not talk to someone who will call from a restricted number.
If they ever make an excuse not to talk Dont do business with them, Even if its a repp'd member. Most rep'd members here are pretty legit but ALWAYS talk on the phone and get some kind of info on the person. I do criminal justice. There really is no way to fight scammers once they have your money Thats why you gotta take extra precautions.

Yeah i found it a little odd how he didn't want to talk on the phone, he made the excuse that he wanted to only talk on AIM so he could log EVERYTHING said.

I've only really ever sold accounts before to proper site buyers and this was my first experience with someone that i haven't known in real life before.

Still no response at all from the buyer either. Im assuming his just letting the bank deal with it all so he gets the money back, oh well hopefully in a few days the GM will have all my stuff back. Just going to suck as well for the guy that purchased the gold from this toon.

'[email protected]' - Account he used to change the wow account into.
'[email protected]' - The address his paypal was under.

*Hope its ok to post these here*
