Re: Final Fantasy XIII
i have about 26 hours of played time into this game ive played it alot since ive been home sick since tuesday. i am on disc 3 and overall i give the game 9/10 it is a really great game overall its fun to play but they managed to simplify the game so much that its easy. however the handguide is a must or you will really miss out of loot or gil.
its difficult to make gil in this game you rely on treasure spheres and selling trashloot
the battle system is very similar to FFX-2 with alot of realtime action but added in its own new tweaks with chain combos.
they completey removed the use of mana from this game so goodbye ethers. in every other game casters always had a mana factor. all abilities now are based off atb gauge charges.
also you can get to use paradigms which is basically an instant switch of specs mid fight for your entire party.
you can start with a full party of dps then swap to a full on defensive with a tank healer and a guy buffing your party or any other spec make-up you can find useful.
the reason why i say this game isnt hard is because they built an auto-win button into the game. its called auto- ability for any toon your playing the computer will give you its recommended moves to use which are normally your best option 95% of the time.
the only thinking you need to do with this combat system is figure out when you will need to swap in a healer or maybe even a tank for certain fights. other then that. you get to just mash X yay...
your stats in this game offer very little room for error. its difficult to actually mess up specing your characters they have caps till you hit a certain part of the story and theres nothing considered a waste since you only have one way to gon in each tree..
the eidolons aka guardian forces aka aeons aka w/e play a very small part in this game compared to previous final fantasy games they are limited to specific party members
the i find the story quite interesting i wont go into detail since i dont wish to spoil anything for ppl.
for most of the game you dont get to pick your main character to control till much later in the game. the game starts to open up abit more after disc 3 and starts to offer more player control so ill let you know how it turns out.
also forgot to mention the other 2 party members are computer players you only control 1 toon at a time but its ok the computer plays them better then most ppl.
sorry this isnt that organized im really just rambling here trying to remeber key points that stuck out for me in this game, and ive been sick the past few days so im on nyquil atm this post may not make sense.
