Hi,
I'm a first time forum user. I posted an account for sale, had a "firm offer" made by a user. Proceeding to negotiate with him and provide due diligence (answered a lot of questions, logged into the account and did a screenshare to show all the gear/gold/etc). He confirmed he'd seen everything he needed to and was happy to proceed on that basis. He asked me to put blizzard credits on the account to facilitate the server transfer of the wow account and said he would pay me back. Hours later he then said he was pulling out of the deal. I spoke to him and he said it was due to funds not posting on time and him not thinking he'd have the money. I suggested I was happy to wait a couple of days for him if thats what was required. He confirmed later that night the funds had posted and he was ready to transact. Then the following day he pulled out a second time.

I spent money adding blizzard credits to the account and based on his unprofessional conduct as a buyer in the process, I then downvoted him on the forums. In response to this downvote, he then retaliated by downvoting my account and has been slandering my sales thread to try and paint me as a bad seller. I have discord evidence of all communications. I'd like the negative feedback removed from my profile if possible as it will make it harder to close a deal.

Thanks,
Covidgamer.

If he can prove he added credit I have no issue reimbursing him for that. At the time I cancelled the purchase he said he saw where to do it, and he would take care of it later. He never notified me that he did added it.

I justifiably left negative feedback on starrswarrs as a buyer after s/he twice backed out of a deal at the last second after making firm offers and clearly communicating the funds were ready and available to proceed when I was back online.

Starrswarrs then unjustifiably retaliated by leaving the negative feedback below on my profile, being a new profile it now has an entirely negative rating which is having a significant negative impact on my ability to make a sale of an account through this website and leaving many prospective buyers questioning whether to proceed. In the interests of transparency to prospective buyers I have compiled a full log of all communications involved in the transaction and am happy to make them available if required.

To be clear, this post has been made in the Feedback Disputes forum and its the profile feedback that I would like to address. This is clearly false/unreasonable feedback and not reflective of the buy/sell experience and I would like for it to be removed.

I informed the seller I had an issue with purchasing. I didnt ask for more time, but he offered it. It was here when he told me he had a lot of offers. After talking to paypal the funds that were posted were supposed to be made available. I saw the funds were there so I told him I was good. This morning I checked and they weren't there. I made another call, and was told my funds wouldnt be available until Saturday or Monday. So I cancelled the purchase because I didnt want to jerk him around, and if he had buyers he could proceed selling. He then informed I was bullshitting him on the account and jerking him around. I have been trading on this site for quite a few years with zero issues. So he was mad probably because my offer was way higher than anything else he had gotten so he wanted to teach me a lesson by discrediting my smooth transactions.

I think you're twisting the story a little to suit your own purposes but thats neither here nor there. I'm happy to post a full transcript if required but here are the facts:

1. You enquired and noted you were a serious buyer.

2. I suggested I did not know the accounts worth and asked you to make an offer.
1608199532800.png

3. The offer was clarified and confirmed as a "firm offer". (With clarification that it not become an auction/ bidding war or be shopped around)
1608199641526.png

4. To avoid an auction you used aggressive time-expiry style bidding
1608199761411.png

5. I agreed it was fair enough and didn't want unneccesarily impede the process when it seemed a reasonable offer, so we proceeded to conduct due diligence on discord. (note: I've obscured the discord name for confidentiality reasons, but left enough visible to confirm the platform used.
1608199850942.png

6. We spoke at some length via text covering my background and reasons for selling which you were comfortable with and then conducted a lengthy screenshare call to step through the entire accounts contents. (Starrswarrs = Blue, Covidgamer = Red)

7. At the end of the call you indicated verbally you were happy to proceed and transact on the following day. 2hrs after this you withdrew the offer in writing.

8. I followed up to understand if there were any concerns or issues behind the decision, and indicated I would commence speaking with other interested parties over the coming days. Upon understanding it was a financial problem, I offered to press pause to give you time to complete the transaction as a professional courtesy, assuming this was legitimately the issue. You believed it was going to be fine.

9. We continued to speak at length about the character, tips and tricks in raids and how to play it and get the most out of it with many questions asked and answered in depth (some example snips are below - I've left the answers out to save space). Further adding credence to the purchase intent.

10. You followed up regarding the blizzard account credits being added (as discussed over the call earlier). I wasn't aware these previously existed and at this point had merely researched and found them.

11. After speaking more about the character you confirmed you would do your best to get the funds cleared. You then confirmed the funds cleared and were ready to transact and I confirmed the closure.

12. You then withdrew for a second time after committing to the purchase approximately 6hrs earlier and blocked me on discord.

It was at this point that I deemed the experience with the buyer Starrswarrs was of a non-professional standard and worthy of negative feedback. It's not personal, but when people present themselves as 'serious bidders', they make 'firm offers', play hardball in negotiation with time expiry tactics, have financial problems which are accomodated, and then pull out twice, theres not even an alternate reality where that sort of process doesnt get negative feedback.
The issue I have, is that after being accomodating and trying to work with the process as a new user on the forums, when giving necessary and justified negative feedback, I was subjected to retaliatory and unjustified negative feedback. This is currently negatively affecting my ability to sell the account in question.
@EpicNPC CM am I being unreasonable / how do we resolve and move this forward? The way I have handled the process is in no way deserving of negative feedback.

I think, its more likely a case of a reseller having a buyer lined up, offering to close on the purchase with me, then pulling out himself after his own purchaser pulled out. Thats neither here nor there, but if thats how you conduct your business, then thats a risk you wear as a bidder and if you behave like this its not unreasonable to expect feedback which reflects that behaviour.

The story isn’t twisted. I can’t buy something without the money to do so. You told me you had people lined up. You even laughed about in voice. When I couldn’t buy it I let you know immediately so you could go on to the next. Not once but twice like you keep pointing out. I never asked for more time you gave it.

I could understand your frustration if you gave me login information, or this was a week long process. This is less than 18 hours from the time we started talking. People don’t buy things all the time. It doesn’t really matter what my reason was. You weren’t harmed in the process. You either lied to me about having buyers, or you’re not getting what you want for it. Either way that’s not my fault or responsibility.

You feel you’re entitled to leave negative feedback. I am not having a good experience dealing with you, and I wouldn’t recommend buying from you. This isnt retaliatory. It’s feedback of my experience. You’re reaction to someone not buying your account is unreasonable. We hadn’t even exchanged payment details, decided on a transaction time, or finalized using a middleman. I didn’t ask you to do anything or drag you along for days potentially missing the sale.

You literally could have went on to the next.

Clear and obvious retaliatory negative feedback.
The experience as a buyer wasn't bad, the only part that was bad was you finding out via feedback that you were a misleading buyer. @EpicNPC CM lets get this feedback resolved please.

How was it not a bad experience? The action has a negative result. That’s the definition of a bad experience. If you went in to buy a car and you couldn’t afford it, decided it wasn’t for you, or any number of countless reasons that you decided against the purchase doesn’t make you a terrible consumer. Even if the seller negotiated, let you test drive it, and got the papers ready, and at the last minute you got up and walked out. That’s the nature of the business. You’re acting like a victim of some conspiracy. I didn’t string you along for an unreasonable amount of time. You informed me multiple times you had offers. I did the appropriate thing, and I informed you I couldn’t buy it as soon as It was known to me so you could sell it. I wasn’t rude or just stopped communication with you without any notification first. This site is run by reputation. It’s our experiences that allow for confidence when dealing with someone else. You feel wronged enough to leave how horrible of a buyer I am. I think that’s unreasonable, but it’s your experience. I believe you are overreacting to the point I would warn potential buyers about doing business with you.

I’ve even gone so far that if you post proof of you going out of the way and adding a balance to the account before I decided not to buy I would reimburse you for something above and beyond a normal sell. That doesn’t sound like someone that was out to screw you over. Your over reaction is indicative of someone that was dishonest during the process.

You're missing the point. My negative feedback was given as a direct result of you committing to and pulling out of a sale twice, all evidence has been posted above. Your negative feedback was given as a direct result of receiving negative feedback
1608247467525.png

and you're now justifying it because you're continuing to have a bad experience being caught in a dispute remediation process where your negative feedback has been called out. None of what has transpired after you said you would have to take a hard pass relates to the sale process or experience, however you're justifying it as reason for leaving a bad review. This is the crux of this complaint. @EpicNPC CM

I can't take a swing at someone and then when they hit me back claim that they instigated the fight. Thats what we're witnessing here. I had a legitimately bad experience in a sale, left feedback indicative of that, and have since been on the recieving end of negative feedback and slander in my sale post. I've taken dispute resolution measures, and the unpleasantness of the experience since then is being used to justify the feedback. This is ridiculous.

The moderator probably couldn’t care less about our bickering. The only thing I could see them being concerned about is you spending money on my request. You have yet to prove you did this. Lying to the moderator to make it look like you were victimized is silly. I doubt you did this as you stated because you have no issue snipping and pasting everything out of context and partials to try and make your case. Certainly you would have posted the proof to show how bad I am as a buyer.

Again happy to pay you back.

And no I’m not missing the point I wouldn’t recommend anyone doing business with you. That’s the point of the feedback. There is nothing in my feedback that is untrue or misleading. I backed out of a sale with notification, and you’re clearly overacting. How did you put it? “Anyone with a brain can see.” I haven’t done anything unreasonable or worth reporting to anyone. Hell, I could have probably helped you sell it to someone by now. You should have just moved on. Why can’t you see that?

No.
There were written and verbal agreements to proceed which were twice cancelled, hence negative feedback issued to the prospective buyer.

Edit: All evidence/information is above.

There's nothing wrong with tyre-kicking an account @starrswarrs
It becomes an issue when you openly state you're a "serious bidder", you make a "firm offer", you negotiate aggressively with time expiry tactics. Proceed to full due diligence and decide to proceed to purchase, and then pull out, recommit and then pull out again.
If you want to kick the tyres, then be straight about that. Say I'm interested in the account, I'd like to make an opening offer of X but need to review the account (make sure you actually have $X). And then if the account checks out you're good to go, instead of committing and then pulling out after the fact.
It's a really simple commercial concept. I don't walk into a Ferrari dealership say I've got $500k to spend on a car and I'm really serious about getting a Ferrari, get to signing on the dotted line, check my account and realise I have no money. That's effectively what you did, its textbook time wasting which warrants negative feedback. You then retaliated and made it even harder to sell the account.

Simply could have moved on to the next. I let you know quickly, and it all took place in less than a day. Your reaction is unreasonable. Your condescending over confident comments just help prove people should steer clear of doing a transaction with you.

There is nothing wrong with deciding not to purchase something. It is a real simple consumer concept. You weren’t drug along. There was no damage done. You didn’t miss the sale of a lifetime, and now you have exacerbated the situation by lying to try and help prove your case. All fueling my point that negative feedback is needed. You're untrustworthy, unreasonable, and people should be cautioned.

I wanted the account for myself. Why would I go through all the questions about specific game play? It’s unfortunate that I couldn’t purchase it. You said you had offers. I respected your position by allowing you to move on immediately. If you would have responded reasonably I would have contacted you today to see if you had sold it to purchase it.
