Downloaded a file

So I stupidly thought I was talking with a repped member then saw he was an imposter, I had downloaded a file Stupidly I know, but I ran a full system scan and avg had removed the file, I'm I safe what else can I do? or do I have to do aa full restore ?

As long as you did not open it you should be fine. You can download rkill + run it, then reboot in safe mode and scan with Malwarebytes (most other anti virus is garbage). Should catch just about anything.

I acutally did open it, sadly.

crtl alt delete and look at system tasks look for something that does not belong that will tell you something is running that should not be. Not always perfect but youll see a process that does not belong most of the time. Like geek said use malware bytes in safe mode. most anti virus's suck because they make money on you having more issues and buying more products or repairs

I used rkill, everything good, I didn't use the other one in safe mood, I used it in normal, nothing came up in both
