Hello everyone, I'd like to discuss about the new B-net log in management page. While the changes of it for playing the game aren't immediate, the ones for the management pages are. I am opening this thread so we can discuss about the changes and share tips.

These changes bring a whole new dimension to all the blizzard account management services. This will directly affect the way we trade and sell right now, hence I'd like to give everyone a little reminder of caution when selling/buying/trading in the next few days, don't get scammed because of a new flaw in the system.

Here is most of the basic information I've figured out. In the near future, every Wow account ( and other blizzards games ) will be affiliated whit his own Battlenet account. The battlenet account will work like a bay to launch all your blizzard© games, kind of like how steam work if you'd like. All login will be done from that Battlenet account EX: If your login for wow was <Jonnyboy22> well from now on it will be <[email protected]> registered on the B-net account.

I believe this whole new goal of this system is to reduce the ammount of account sharing people do. This way blizzard can sell more copies of its games!

Here are some quote of the current blizzard TOU.

World of Warcraft players now have the option to create a Battle.net account, merge a World of Warcraft account (or multiple accounts) with it, and begin logging in to the game, the Armory, and the forums using their new Battle.net account login information.

Merge your World of Warcraft account now - http://us.battle.net/account/creation/landing.xml

Some of the benefits of the Battle.net account include:

* Fewer passwords to remember. One single login lets you access World of Warcraft, the online Blizzard store, and more -- including upcoming games such as StarCraft II and Diablo III.
* Opt in to upcoming Blizzard Entertainment beta tests. Put yourself in the running to be invited to test upcoming games.
* Easy access to your classic games. Store your CD keys for classic Blizzard Entertainment titles, and then download the games whenever you wish.
* And more to come… We’re planning to add more features in the future, including tools to help friends communicate between games and bring players closer together.

At this time, signing up is completely optional -- but if you’re interested in taking advantage of the benefits of the Battle.net account today, check out the FAQ for more information, or create an account now.

Def needs to be some research done on the Bnet Ramifications on account trading/selling. i see many scammers licking their lips at a new system that will have many people left with empty pockets if they don't study up on how the changes will affect trading/selling.

with this new system does it actualy change the contact name on your wow account to you battle.net one.I dont understand i tested it out and the wow website does not show the contact info.Does that mean scammers can actualy change the contact name on your account seems very strange blizzard where so anal befor.

yes as it stands thats what it means. i took two of my old accounts merged them to a battlenet account with an entirely diff name that the two accounts and had the option of xfering the chars between the two accounts. it seems as it currently stands the name on the battlenet account is the one that the wow accounts is changed to. Very odd.

Hi MD

Basically what is going on here I have done testing of my own between my orignal account & a buddies account that quit wow.Sorry about my bad grammer.

Basically When you make a Battlenet Account and input the information Name , Address & email, its like making a new WoW Account.Once a person has access to your username & password
they can merge the account to the New battlenet account they created. From the looks of it ,once you Merge the accounts onto the Battlenet Account ,what ever info that was on the accounts is erased and updated with the New Battlenet information & not requiring confirmation from the email on the wowaccounts .Once I merged account I was able to transfer from my buddies old acccount to my orignal account.

As far as recalls go I have spoken to 1 person who has been scammed which they are going to call Blizzard so I await their reply back.

I think if someone merges an account to a battlenet account there are going to be logs of that merging .Blizzard is probaly going to suspend the Battlenet account thus suspending the accounts merged on it as well until they do their investigation.
Thank you for you time.

Also Forgot to add :

Account A & Account B where Merged. That you wanted and was not scammed.

Your login name becomes the email address .
You can have 2 people login with the same Battlenet Account .

EG:

Person 1 logs in with [email protected]---|___ Same B-net Acc.
Person 2 logs in with [email protected]---|

But you can't be on the same WoW account at the same time.
On the same battlenet account yes ,Same wow account No.

As far as ToS of sharing don't know if Battlenet will log ips from 2 different sources that may flag the B-Net Account.
