Discord Scams - We will no longer review scam reports

Due to how easy it is to impersonate members on Discord, we have decided to end all reviews for Discord scam reports. Discord is now use at your own risk. We will assume 100% of discord accounts are fake and any disputes will automatically be closed if that was the primary contact method.

For feedback, if someone disputes a feedback and the sale was on Discord, we will also not review it. The feedback will be immediately removed.

Members can still use Discord and post it in their threads. However if a problem is reported and all communication was on Discord we will not review it.

Please use our on-site chat instead.

Clarification:

• If payment proof is provided, we will review the dispute as normal.
• This rule is for Discord impersonations reports only. Meaning a veteran member is impersonated on Discord by a scammer.
  • Scammers do not impersonate new members. We will still investigate these types of Discord reports.

Members can already do this by communicating with each other on our site.

However if a seller just posts their discord username in the thread, any scammer can contact them offsite and impersonate one of our high feedback members.

If the seller fails to establish who this person is on Discord, we're not going to investigate the scam.

An active Nitro sub is not required to make an exact impersonation, so this wouldn't help much and would just complicate things more.

Unless the buyer/seller confirm other contact information, not including the discord username, we will not investigate the claims for veteran members.

I think you should ban Discord completely. People dont read rules and this will leave them resentful when you dismiss their disputes because they used Discord.

All EpicNPC MMs work onsite only. If you get contacted by a MM off-site or have one invited into your conversation off-site claiming they are an EpicNPC MM they are scamming and the MM is an imposter.

I actually never deal with guests/unverified users, i always invite people to create a profile on Epicnpc, and i would like to use the PM as a method of contact. But the only thing that led me to take the rest of the conversation on Discord is the limits that i found on the Epicnpc PM system, for example, when sending message "A" you need to wait few seconds to send the message "B" like the conversation should be instantly without limits between messages. in another hand, i understand that this was made espacily to avoid spam? but if you guys could manage to make it instantly just like on Discord or Skype etc... i would definitely remove my discord as a method of contact.

New chat system is being worked on. It should be similar to instant messaging.

I'm the one who made the dispute not the other user. Either way, is there any way you can look up threads that were deleted by the OP? Because I know for a fact that I copied and pasted the discord ID directly from the thread that was originally up and it was the same as the one that was on his profile before he removed it. Again I copied and pasted directly from his thread and nowhere else.

I'm just looking for clarification for the future, you already made your decision.

Yeah guys, sometimes you rush to a decision without fully investigating what happened. I was already warned not to post in dispute threads.

If the moderator or admin makes a mistake or misses important information, members are allowed to post to point out the mistake. They are not allowed to give opinions which is why the mod told you not to post.

We're all human, we make mistakes. In this case another moderator caught the mistake and it was quickly resolved.

I am sorry I don't remember if I ever removed your post in the case you mentioned. I usually removing only irrelevant things and comments which have nothing to do with attempts to resolve the dispute in the right way.

Handling with disputes is not that easy as when you look from the side so if we allow everyone to post their comment this would make our mods job much heavier.

You can appeal a moderators decision and request an admin to re-review it if you disagree with the decision made. I don't see you opening a support ticket to make this type of request, but if that's what you want, just post here.

However keep in mind we do NOT investigate discord scams. We assume EVERYONE on discord is a scammer. If you plan to make an accusation you must have overwhelming evidence to show that the member on Epicnpc is the same person on Discord. The discord username is not enough. It has to be more than that even if the discord username and # are exactly the same.

If you believe you have that evidence or it was posted in the dispute, let me know and I will re-review it. If that evidence doesn't exist, then the dispute should have been immediately closed as we do not investigate discord scams. Please contact Discord if you need help.

I would recommend doing the deal on-site. If its only through discord there is always the possibility you are talking to an impersonator.
