People have been doing this for years who have been banned....
They just use guest accounts and contact our members from their topics.


This site should be exclusive to members, not banned retards trying to scam.

Sorry we cannot block guests. People will not join site if they cannot see what it is about.

people need to learn to check who they are dealing with and look for imposters. No amount of blocking will fix that.

Its a reasonable "exuse" because if we stop people from joining there will not be new buyers and sellers and market would get stale.

Your post was removed and infracted due to inappropriate language, threats and did not follow scam accusation rules. Also seeking personal information on a user banned or not puts the site at risk of liability for your actions.

Let's be real here, if we blocked guests from the sites, more than 75% of the pop wouldn't be here, maybe old MD members and few others, I for one know if I had to register to even VIEW the website I would of just gone somewhere else, and I'm sure ( could be wrong) is the same for others. You can't be lazy and assume everyone is who they say, just simply search there skype on google etc, or PM the user to verify its them, simple.

I'd recommend upgrading your account and only doing business with upgrade members. If that's not an option then you should use Trade Guardian. There's trustworthy official middlemen around the site as well.

Blocking access would effect many different aspects for sellers and buyers. A lot of users come here for one or two transactions and have no need to purchase a membership. Blocking non members would drastically effect the numbers of users on the site. Blocking IPs is ineffective because it is extremely easy to mask/change your IP.


As for scammers, there isn't much we can do besides what we already have in place.

We have phone verification to make any posts, as well as alerts and report systems for potential scammers. VPN users are also automatically banned.

You can consider using a middleman, or our automated middleman system Trade Guardian. There are also guides on how to protect yourself and the steps you need to take to ensure a safe transaction.

You will find once you take the necessary steps before a transaction it is much easier to identify a potential scammer.

We do block by IP, but only in rare cases. Most scammers change their IP every time they make a new account, so IPs are not very ineffective in tracking and blocking scammers.

If we made the forum private, scammers would simply register an account and use that to browse the forum. This would do very little in actually preventing scammers from doing what they do, but would have a large effect on legit members who don't want to register just to view the forum.

We are aware that many scammers browse as guests and contact members off site, however there's no easy solution to stop this. We are implementing a new chat system soon so people can stay onsite to conduct their sales and trades. We also have some plans to update off-site contact info so members can more easily and securely contact each other off site if that's what they want to do.
