Okay so I'm not much of a computer geek so to speak.
I know a few things...

My problem is~
My computer randomly reboots
Actions taken~
Replacing the modem
Direct Modem to Computer connection
Replacing the power source
Cleaning out the computer manually and literally
Removing useless programs
Checking for updates
Running frequent virus scans
Checked memory

Honestly i rather get a Fix from one of you guys than taking it into a Computer technician and paying 200$ for 15 minutes worth of work.

Any other actions i can take? other than backing up all my Files and reinstalling XP? Which is a problem because i lost the disc apparently.

I'm not much a computer expert either, but I know that there are a few things that would make your computer reboot. Usually it's the PSU (power supply), or it could be bad RAM. The other thing is that your CPU is overheating.. or your entire PC is overheating in general.

When I was having issues with my previous computers, it was because I was young and had always bought these piece of [censored] computers from Walmart and Costco and crap because I didn't know any better. The airflow is usually never good and it reduces your hardware life because everything overheats. The issue was never the files, a virus, or a [censored] OS, it was always due to things overheating.

Does your computer have good air flow? Does your CPU have working fan / liquid cooling on it?

I had a similar problem were I used to get constant blue screens of death. Like CODreimer said most of the time it's an issue with a faulty PSU or Ram.

You should try running Memtest 86 to see if there is anything wrong with your ram memtest86: http://www.memtest86.com/

Also have you updated your video drivers?

In my case I upgraded from windows XP > Windows 7 and increased the voltage on my ram + cpu and I didn't get any more blue-screens / random reboots.

Memtest is prolly last on the list of things to do for random rebooting. As COD said, most likely an overheating issue since you already replaced the PS.

Try: http://www.almico.com/sfdownload.php

And report back with CPU temps, try putting the CPU under load, then the GPU, then RAM, the best way though to test a RAM issue is to just use 1 stick at a time and see what happens. Sometimes if you are "Mixmatching ram sticks" or have one faulty one it will cause reboots.

With a just random reboot instead of BSOD I personally think you have a cooling issue.

Actually, out of curiosity, what PSU did you use, and what PC specs?

If i pay for this will it work? 39 is alot but nothing compared to the average 200 to get it repaired from a tech

I downloaded it then i have to pay....

Make sure your power button isn't stuck. That seems obvious, but if you dropped your computer it could get jammed internally and randomally be turning itself off and on. Open the computer and on the inside you should see the wires that lead from the power button to the mothership, disconnect them and start it by placing a screwdriver or any metal tip over the two connect points on the mother ship. If the computer stays on and doesn't reboot, your power button is screwed up. To turn it off, simply press the metal against the points again.

Check if it's overheating, I know a few people that have random reboots due to it.
Check if auto shut down at a certain temperture is on, it usually is by default.
If so try turning it off and see if you still get random reboots, if not then your computer is just hot.
In that case either get new/more fans or just leave auto shut down off and use a hot computer.

Are you running alot of processes or a certain one when it reboots ?
