I hope some of you experienced ppl can help answer some questions. It would help me and many others:

My question are

- If you transfer to a fresh account, you have to maintain the same Last Name. What if you change the First Name? Does it matter or will it disadvantage you later?

- Is it double the safety to transfer the character a second time again?

- How does one go about recalling a character that has been transferred into a new account?

1. You can always changed the first name to whatever you want, personally I like to change the first name to something completely different then what the account of which you are transferring the character off of first name.

2. If the character is worth it, yes. Pretty much once you transfer the character a second time theres almost no possible way for you to get that character back.

3. A long series of emails, faxes, and notarized forms and you may be able to get the character back.

I would also, after transferring the character off the account get a permanent ban on the old account that way the OO can never see what account the character was transferred to. Also make sure you change the name on the character.

Thanks for answering my questions. I have a couple more.

What if I had transfered my toon into a fresh account and changed the first name. And something happened and Blizzard locks the account and asks for ID verification?

What should I do since the First Name is no longer the same as the Original owner? This actually happened to one of my account but the original owner is willing to help me.

Blizzard has never done it to me in the past or anyone I know. I am 99.9% sure that they will not "lock" up an account because of the first name not matching the last account. The .01% is because of the fact they've been changing their account management and billing system the past week and you don't know what kind of new security measures are in place, so far I've been fine.

I'm a little confused about the second question, but here is how I read it. As long as the last name matches on the new account you will be fine. You will never have an ID for that name unless you meet someone with that name.

Ok what I meant is that my account has been locked by Blizzard. I have no idea why but they asked me for ID verification in an email. And since I have previously transferred into a fresh account and the First Name is changed from the previous owner, I'm not sure what I should do now.

The original owner is willing to help me but I want to ask for opinion first.

Should I just have him fax his ID? Even though the first name does not match?

Seems your in a pretty tough situation. Your only chance is to have him take care of the forms himself, however, since you don't have an ID by the exact name on the new account they may require further investigation on whether to open/close your account.

I read Boneshamans guide on how to lock the account. But that is not a definite ban only a lock. What is the fastest and most effective way to ensure the old account gets banned?

Use a very old version of glider is a permanent account closure.

Heyas, I'm sorry for butting into an ongoing conversation, but I was wondering if anyone could help me secure an account I bought a month ago or so back. It's not that I don't trust the seller - in fact, he/she was very courteous and I've run into no problems thus far, but it's always better safe than sorry. So here's my current situation:

I bought an account from seller a month ago as I stated above. However, the seller is not the original owner, but had all important information (SQ/SA, First/Last name, e-mail and password change, etc. Double checked on everything via Blizzard Billing Department). He had transferred the character off the original owner's old account for safety. I currently possess the account that he had the character transferred off to.

So my question is, if I transfer the character to a third account and get the current account (not the original owner account) perma-banned via botting/gliding, would the original owner be able to recall the character back to the original account?

Phew, sorry about the confusing question and situation. I tried my best to be as clear as possible.
