Buyer asking for an ID card

So I got an offer for my guild wars 2 account but buyer wants me to send him picture of my physical ID card (national card or whatever its called) and account is not even on my name so it doesn't make sense to me. I don't trade a lot so I am interested is this a common thing?

If the name on the account does not match the ID name. Then it is 0 point to send out the ID. If the name on the account matched the ID then yes some buyers want the ID for full safety.

Since your ID does not MATCH the name on the account. It's pointless to send it out. It does not make sense.

I require the ID card or driver license because he wants payment via Western Union and it's not safe for me to pay thru WU.
That's all, account matching doesn't mean anything to me at the moment.

Here's the risk with that. If you are using WU as payment method there is no safety for you at all.

For ex. If account is recalled then you are basically screwed since you cannot get your money back.

It's best to use Western Union when you are dealing with an Item for ex. a legendary or in game currency that cannot be reverted other than that I would not advice western union for an Account. It's not SAFE.

As Logisticz has stated - Western Union has zero built-in protection for the buyer.

I wouldn't make the trade...Fact being western union is horrible way of buying virtual items, because the protection does not serve u and there is no way of securing the account really and truly as long as they have some payment history for it.
