Bump Update - Posts no longer bump

Posts will no longer bump threads to the top of the forum. The only way to bump a thread to the top is to click the "Bump Now" button or use one of the store items.

This should not have any major impact as the "bump now" button is free and is restricted to the same 6 hours bump rule.

The reason for this change is to deincentivise members from posting "bump" comments in their threads. When a potential buyer is browsing a thread with multiple pages, it's annoying to have to scroll though a ton of "bump" comments.

A customer wants to view previous customer comments, not "bump" comments from the seller. This creates a poor busying experience which we want to prevent.

Some forums are excluded from this new rule, namely the News, Help, Dispute and non-sale forums.

Update: This has been disabled. We did not anticipate so many threads having never been bumped using the "bump now" button so this created a big mess. We'll update and fix the problem, then re-enable.

Would posts from other members still remove the cooldown of the bump option?

I understand that they won't bump the thread, but will they still reset the cooldown on the bump option?

Previously, when someone posts in your thread, it bumps the thread and also resets the cooldown of the bump option, so you can bump it again right away. So you would basically get 2 free bumps when someone posts in your thread.

No, posts will have no affect on the bump timer anymore. So it won't reset if another members posts in the thread.
