In the first Guild Wars game, you could unlock Hall of Monuments rewards that would be able to be claimed in GW 2. As soon as you create a character in GW 2, an item called a Portal Stone shows up in your inventory - which can then be used to teleport your character to where you can claim these HoM rewards, by talking to Kimmes the Historian. I have unlocked 30 out of the possible 50 GW 2 HoM rewards. These special rewards range from awesome armors to adorable miniatures. Furthermore, there are several titles that are included with the HoM rewards - these titles can be claimed by going to the Hero panel and clicking Achievements.
