Guild Wars 2 - Unique questing system, huge maps to explore and complete, good quest storyline, action combat mechanics, fun pvp and WvW, boat load of end game content(expansion) and is constantly updated. Free to play up till the expansion but its one time payment compared to WoW or FFXIV ARR which are subscription based. You also get a free max lvl boost if u buy the expansion.

FFXIV ARR - I'd call it a balanced mmorpg, it does everything right but doesn't do much to standout from other mmorpgs, subscription based and u gotta pay for the expansion as well, worth it if you have a lot of time to kill.

Both games aren't pay2win.

If you mean best MMO as in population then WoW>>FFXIV>>ESO if you ment skill then FFXI first because you have to have 100 or more pieces of gear for whatever job you play to be the best and FFXIV second because you will find out why after you pull your hair out from losing in a Party Finder or Duty Finder group 50+ times on 1 boss and ESO 3rd because those boss battles are epic and brutal on current endgame.

I think MMOs are a lot about how you're feeling at the time, I often go back to games ive played in the past only to quit them again.
Thats just my habit though.

I'd have to vouch for Black Desert Online. It gets a lot of hate because of the grindy Korean MMO side of things - but that being said, there is a seemingly endless amount of quests and things to collect.
Hitting 'end game' gear takes months and months as well. It's very much a top tier MMO if you have infinite amounts of time to commit.
Also has the best character models of any MMO out there right now.

I would agree that WoW at the moment has the most fun ways of building your character, but unless your raiding mythic it's hard to stick with the game for too long. In general MMOs are in a weird spot atm. FF XIV has some interesting stuff in it, but most people find the early game leveling really boring.

I haven't played MMO for a long time. Last time I played RF Online 4 years ago, but the game wasn't so popular, although I liked it. Now, I noticed a lot of buzz around WoW, so maybe it is really good and one of the best MMO.

It depends a lot on your preferences
If you want some casual MMO then WOW probably is the most refined
But If you prefer a pure PVP experience then Albion Online
In the other side, if you want a PVE experience, I like Black Desert Online

@Torpedor I've tried Black Desert Online and there are some classes that I really like, there is the Ninja class that I personally haven't seen in any other MMO game.

Anyway, honestly, I don't prefer this game because I don't think there is any challenge in the battles with the mobs so I stopped playing it after 10 mins.

I still prefer old classic WoW any day in the week. I don't think I will ever feel anything for a game like I do to WoW Vanilla/TBC/WOTLK.

I've tried finding something else to replace without success. It always ends that I return back to WoW.

The only game I've found equal to WoW is Ragnarok Online 2 but I feel the servers are dead.

Haven't heard about Albion Online but I will really make sure to check this game out. Thank you!
