Assuming no middleman, I think probably the best method would be for me to change the account email to a separate email shared between me and the buyer, and the payment and transfer to whatever your email is after you confirm it. As far as taking back control of the account, I don't think there is a way to take back control over the account once the email and password have been changed to your own email and password, I will be a complete outsider to the account credentials.
