1. If he opens up with a scripted list of questions that seem almost exactly the same as a previous encounter with a scammer, probably the exact same idiot under a new name.
Honestly this particular [censored] has been harrassing me for the past several months. He got called out as a scammer once and he tries to pretend to be a new buyer every time, eventually giving his dumbass away.
2. If they link you rep threads without having posted on your thread, you can rest assured they ARE scammers.

Two things you can do to spot the scammer in this incident.
1. If he opens up with a scripted list of questions that seem almost exactly the same as a previous encounter with a scammer, probably the exact same idiot under a new name.
Honestly this particular [censored] has been harrassing me for the past several months. He got called out as a scammer once and he tries to pretend to be a new buyer every time, eventually giving his dumbass away.
2. If they link you rep threads without having posted on your thread, you can rest assured they ARE scammers.
This second one is obvious but I'd figure there are a few new people out there who may not know what to look for.
