Are unmerged accounts really safe?

Just curious. I want to pick up the game and i was wondering if i should just get a unmerged one or just start from scratch 1-90.

most unmerged are generally safe, they dont usually have anything on them (toons wise). the oo can ALWAYS come back and make havoc if they chose. the only real positive for getting an unmerged is to scroll of resurection it and get an instant 80. i have seen some sellers offer "epic" unmerged which have a larger chance of having toons/chieves/titles and gear on them. these are unmerged accounts that have a long sub time linked to them, but you still dont know what your getting till its merged. the only 100% safe account is the one you bought and have the disks for.

yeah, It's a crap shoot really, Some of them get caught in ban waves, others do not. I have like 6 or 7 still not banned.

I have been through around 5 unmerged accounts - 2 got banned, 1 is running still (on pre-paids), 2 that i tried to charge with rafs got locked and need the original owner's id to activate again. imo if you want to legitimately pay (subscriptions/game cards) they are quite safe (at least if you dont bot or the original owner does not appear out of the blue), but i would discourage you from trying to raf them up - not banned but often locked and needs the if you won't have so the account will be lost. hope it helps : )

I had an umerged account for over a year, had over 100k gold and then the original owner randomly reclaimed their account. It's a huge risk, I advise using it just to get the level 80 and then transfer it to your own account. Or as soon as you get any valuable characters on the unmerged account transfer it to another account immediately.
